The MRTT represents one of the largest and most complicated aviation programs ever completed in Australia, and required more than 100,000 man hours per aircraft to complete—a job that included the conversion of a green A300-200 airliner to a KC-30A tanker. This is demonstrated by a 99.8 percent demand satisfaction rate for component supply, with 215 aircraft parts being supplied on average, per month.
