Requirements for Service
In order to use this SIM you need an unlocked device.
How do you know if you have an unlocked device?
Insert the SIM card into your device. If your device indicates a provider (eg Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile)
then your device is unlocked. If your device displays a different message, your device is locked.
In addition, your device needs to support the correct frequency in order to call and / or use the internet.
Worldwide providers use of several GSM networks (850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz). The GSM1800
network is widely used in Europe, the GSM850 network often in South America and Asia and the
GSM1900 network especially in North America. To use your GSM anywhere in the world you will need a
quad-band phone.
For "faster" 3G, Internet Providers use the UMTS network (850/900/1700-AWS 1900/2100 Mhz.)

4G Internet. 4G stands for 4th generation and is the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications
standards. It is the successor to the 3G standard. 4G is still limited globally available.

Note: "Unlocked" means that your phone supports SIM cards from provider that are allowed. Often a
provider locks a cellular phone
Unlocking your Device
Unlocking your device is an easy process, it simply involves dialing a code on your phone’s keypad.
Most mobile phone operators will give you the unlock code and step-by-step instructions right over the
phone. Call customer service and inform them you’ll be traveling out of the country and you need the
„unlock code“.

Getting started:
Your sim will be automatically activated when you insert this sim into your mobile phone in Thailand.
You will get a confirmation SMS (text message) within a few minutes.
(Activate roaming first if you not in Thailand and want to use the SIM outside Thailand)
Where can I buy top up cards?:
Happy prepaid scratch or refill card is easy to buy at any 7eleven shops or any convenient stores or

How can I top up?:
When you have the prepaid scratch or refill card, enter
*100* Card serial no Card ID No * 9 # (no space in between, then dial)
* After you have refilled your prepaid balance, you will receive the confirmation SMS of
your new balance on your mobile screen.
National Rates:
Every call made to any network providers within Thailand costs 2 baht/min
Sending SMS within Thailand is 3 baht per message

How to Dial International Calls

To place an International call you must dial ,,00“ followed by the country code.
The format is: 00 + COUNTRY CODE + AREA CODE + NUMBER
For value for money calls

SIM Card Validity
DTAC Happy Pre-Paid SIM Cards come with a validity date. Every time you top up your credit, the validity
date gets extended (depending on how much you top up) If no refill is made within 45 days after the
SIM’s current validity date, the SIM will expire
Remark: Maximum accumulation of validity is 90 days.

DTAC is the second largest mobile phone provider in Thailand. It is largely owned by Telenor group DTAC
service covers all provinces and districts nationwide in Thailand

Roaming
Prepaid* Roaming is available in 46 countries. You need to activate International Roaming first 2 easy
steps:
1. Call Costumer service and ask if they can activate roaming service
o Call 1678 (within Thailand)

International Roaming will be activated within 60 minutes by DTAC Happy Costumer service and
available in the next countries.
*prepaid roaming is reserved for making/receiving calls, and sending/receiving SMS only.
DTAC Wifi Internet
Dtac offers Wi-Fi services for several parts of Thailand. While by far the smallest Wi-Fi coverage of the
three carriers, it is good to know that there is some available. If you’re currently using a unlimited
monthly 3G package, there’s a good chance you have Wi-Fi for free. Or if you happen to be Wi-Fi area,
and just want to use Wi-Fi only for a period of time there is a package for this too.
