Last year, the league attracted 500 players ages 4-19. We are currently registering players for the upcoming spring season for the following: — Cal Ripken Tee-Ball (ages 4-6); players bat from a tee, continuous batting order, safe t-balls are used. — Cal Ripken Rookie Pitching Machine (ages 7-8); machine pitches balls, continuous batting order. — Cal Ripken Minor (ages 9-10); players pitch, limited base stealing, continuous batting order. —Cal Ripken Major (ages 10-12); players pitch, 50’ pitching, 70’ base path, stealing is permitted. — Babe Ruth (ages 13-14); players pitch, play on regulation-size field, Major League rules apply. — Babe Ruth (ages 15-16); players pitch, play on regulation-size field, Major League rules apply. — Babe Ruth (ages 17-18); players pitch, play on regulation-size field, Major League rules apply. The regular season runs from April through June. Babe Ruth players ages 13-18 years old will start in May and end in July. Teams are selection using a draft system. All players must try out. If a player is unavailable for tryouts, he or she will be placed on a team using a random selection process. Tee-Ball players do not try out, but will be assigned to teams via a draft procedure.
