The National Guidelines for clinical management of DF/DHF/DSS was developed by in 2008.
Since then newer understanding of the pathogenesis of the disease along with change in
mode of clinical presentation and severity of the illness have led to change in concept of
clinical management of the disease. Harmonizing the existing WHO guidelines a new National
Guidelines for Clinical Management of Dengue Fever 2014 has been developed by a team of
Experts which has been released in a National Consultation on Dengue with special focus on
case management held on 19th December, 2014 in Regal Room, The Lalit Hotel, Connaught
Place, New Delhi by Prof. (Dr) Jagdish Prasad, Director General of Health Services, Ministry of
Health and Family Welfare; Dr. Nata Menabde, WHO Representative to India; Dr Ahmed
Jamsheed Mohamed, Medical Officer-VBN, SEARO, WHO; Prof. Siripen Kalayanarooj, ExDirector, Queen Sirikit, NICH, Bangkok, Thailand; Prof. Ashutosh Biswas, Dept. of Medicine,
AIIMS, New Delhi and Dr A.C. Dhariwal, Director, NVBDCP.
Dte. NVBDCP in collaboration with WHO Country Office for India organized a Training of
Trainers on Clinical Management of Dengue Cases from 17th to 18th December, 2014 in Regal
Room, The Lalit Hotel, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Total 50 participants from different States
have been trained on the revised Indian ‘National Guidelines for clinical management of
Dengue Fever’ which is developed by a team of Indian National Experts by harmonizing both
the existing WHO ( WHO- TDR 2009; WHO SEAR 2011) and National Guidelines 2008. National
and International subject Experts deliberated in this brain storming training. Name of the 50
