-2015 Ministry FocusFollowing the Bible, Following Jesus!
The Bible is absolutely essential in order to daily walk as disciples
of Jesus. The Bible is the inspired, authoritative written testimony
of Jesus' life upon the earth. That is why our 2015 ministry focus is
written the way it is.
There is a problem when we begin to focus on one without the other. It's unhealthy to read the Bible for its own sake if it doesn't lead
us to follow Jesus. It is also unhealthy to say that we want to follow
Jesus, yet are not taking the time to open the Bible.
Following the Bible is the spiritual catalyst for following Jesus! We
must look to the Bible because that is the only way we will know
Jesus - what he did and what he said. Not only so, but to know of
His ongoing presence and promises that give us true hope.
We now have to take the posture of a missionary within our culture
and community. In our effort to reach out with the gospel effectively
and faithfully, we have to know what we believe and why we believe
it - and for this to happen we need to know what's in the Bible!
That is why I'm so excited about the new Bible reading plan for our
church! I looked over many reading plans and feel this is the best
one for us. The daily readings are manageable and if we stick with
it and stay on track we will read the entire Bible in 2 years. Going
forward, the weekly readings will be in every bulletin, and the
monthly readings will be in every newsletter! Turn the page to see
the February Bible readings at-a-glance! Together we go forward one day at a time, one page at a time, one step at a time, on our
journey with Jesus!

From the Elders:
Sister Jo Ann Kouts led the Opening Devotional.
Had Elder Elections - Brother Ed Settle is new Vice Chair. Sister
Michele Sweet is new Secretary.
Set "Elder of the Day" Schedule for Sunday Worship; had Committee
and Ministry Team reports.
Pastor Andy noted a concern about Sunday School Classes starting
late, and hopes all will make an effort to start at 9:00AM in order to
have sufficient time for lesson and fellowship before heading to worship.
Looking ahead to CHURCH COUNCIL - held in Sanctuary on Sunday, February 8, 2015 after worship.
From the Trustees:
The board of Trustees met in January. The following elections and committee
appointments were made...
President - Mike Ketron
Vice-President - Alvie Schaefer
Secretary—Sally Scrogham
Committee assignments CEC - Tina Dodd
Preschool - Cody Wilson
Cemetery - Alvie Schaefer and Tom Lux
Property - Alvie Schaefer, Gary Dodd, Evan Huffman and John Ray
Many thanks to some of the current Trustees and past Trustees that stepped
up to fix the heating problem in the Parish House—Gary Huffman, Kurt Heilman, John Ray and Grant Huffman. This was more than just a simple fix as
they had to run new pipe from the Church to the Parish House under the driveway. Two days of hard work!
Hopefully everyone likes the new video screen that has been installed and is
being used now.
We look forward to the challenges that 2015 will bring to us and are committed
to being good stewards of the financial resources of the Church. We have a lot
of great things going on and will do everything we can to make sure we are
allocating the resources to make dreams become reality!

Our 3-yr-old class grew a little in January. With the addition
of two cute little girls, the 3’s class now has 13 children in
attendance. We are at full capacity, serving 31 children in
total. The children are especially appreciate of the MOC
during the cold weather and the teachers find many creative
ways to use the gym for learning and physical activity.
February is the time when Hope Moravian Church
families and MSP families can enroll children for the 20152016 school year. Enrollment information and applications
will be available in entry areas and on our website. As we
have found, the 4’s class fills really quickly in March, so we
STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to share this information
with family and friends.
We currently have 6 children attending MSP through
the support of a partial or full scholarship. The scholarship
fund continues to be supported by individuals, families and
church groups who faithfully and often regularly give to this
important ministry. Blessings to those who make this commitment to children and the spreading of God’s love in the
way by contributing to the scholarship fund for MSP.
We look forward to installing a tv or viewing screen in
the preschool rooms. With the securing of church-wide
WiFi, the technology tools abound for instruction for MSP,
Sunday School and Children’s Church. All these teachers
are very appreciative of this support and look forward to using these tools to enhance children’s ministries at Hope Moravian Church.

THANK YOU
Thank you to Evan Watkins for bringing the message
on January 4, and to the Elders for leading December
28 and January 4 while Pastor Andy and his family
were in Wisconsin on vacation.
SUNDAY SCHOOL DISPLACEMENT
For the Sundays that fall during the Journey Through Faith Weekends
( February 22 and March 1), some of the Sunday School classes will
have to find another place to meet. If your class is one of the
“displaced” classes, you are welcome to join us in the sanctuary for an
“all-congregation” Sunday School class. Pastor Andy will lead us in this
time of fellowship.

HOSPITALIZATIONS
Hospitalized and/or had surgery throughout the month
of January were: Brandy Walters, Sally Scrogham, Josh
McClain, Richard Keller and Paul Nading.
SYMPATHY
Our Sympathy goes out to the families
of Jean Shull, and Karen Cann (Ken
Seim’s aunt). Our prayers continue to
be with the families during this time

The CROSS
(Christians Reaching Out Serving our Savior)
Team Update
Our team continues to seek to fill the
Worship Leader position for The
Cross worship service to be held at
Hauser High School Auditorium. This is our primary objective
right now as we will not begin this
new service without the right person
in place. Please pray with us that
the Lord would truly "Hand Pick" the
individual for this ministry.
