Welcome to ABC Sundays at ABC are the times when we gather together as a whole church, in the presence of God. We pray, sing and read scripture in order that we might follow Jesus. As we do these things we open ourselves to the power and influence of God's Spirit, as he forgives, restores, heals and guides us. In this way, we find purpose and meaning, hope and grace for all that life holds. New to ABC - If you are visiting ABC for the first time and wish to find out more about us, please fill in one of our ‘Welcome Leaflets’ (available in the stand in the atrium and landing foyers) and hand it in to one of the welcome team, wearing a blue t-shirt. Can we pray with you? - After each service, there are members of our church who will be happy to pray with you about anything that may be on your heart. Anyone is welcome to come and receive prayer. The team will be in the front left hand corner. 8th February 2015 Sung worship has been one of the features of a Christian gathering which has changed most over the past 40 years. Our understanding of it and the nature of it is significantly different from the practices of our grandparents. But has the change been entirely for the good? Have we lost anything along the way which we might now regret? Once again 1 Corinthians speaks into our context today, with chapter 14 acting as a benchmark for all that gathered Christian worship should be. So how do we stack up? Does ABC truly represent what Paul sets out for us in the Bible? This Sunday 10am the ABC of Worship - at ABC This service will include family communion 7pm 21st Century Woes: Rest for your Soul and how to find it. Quote for the week : ‘In December 2014 the United States saw the 150th exoneration (since 1976). That means for every nine executions, one person was found innocent. What if the Postal Service lost one letter for every nine it delivered? What if an airline crashed one in every ten flights? Innocence has raised questions for many of us’ Shane Claiborne What’ s on 15th February - Spread the Love this Valentine's! Join us for our Alternative Valentine's Banquet, 1212-2pm. The Bible asks us ALL to love one another in an inclusive way, and this community meal is one way of reaching out - to those both in our own church community and beyond who may otherwise feel excluded by this particular time of year. It's a way of demonstrating God's love by extending friendship and love. “My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us.... “ I John 4: 11-12 (The Message) A massive thank you to everyone who so far has volunteered to help at or offered a hot meal for the banquet. We also need lashings of delicious deserts! We also need extra volunteers to help with the kiddies and adult craft activities if anyone fancies helping out.
