Welcome to ABC Sundays at ABC are the time when we gather together as a whole church, in the presence of God. We pray, sing and read scripture in order that we might follow Jesus. As we do these things we open ourselves to the power and influence of God's Spirit, as he forgives, restores, heals and guides us. In this way, we find purpose and meaning, hope and grace for all that life holds. If you have any questions about the church, or require any assistance today, please make yourself known to a steward and we will be very happy to help. Sunday 5th October This week, former Conservative Party supporter Aaron Banks, gave UKIP a donation of £1million. In a press interview he explained that he had intended to give UKIP £100,000 but when William Hague described him as 'somebody we've never heard of', Mr Banks upped his donation to a million. Arrogance, vanity and ego all play a part in this story; things which affect us all to one degree or another. In the light of the cross, our subject for this morning, all of these are exposed as the worthless human dysfunctions they are. Paul explains that the only basis for his message is the self-sacrifice of Jesus. How does the way we use our money demonstrate that same self-sacrifice? This Sunday 10am Harvest - there are fliers with information about the projects we are supporting this year. Prayerfully consider what you can contribute. If you would like to bring a harvest gift then contributions to the CAP food store are really welcome.
