February is typically “heart” month,
when we are thinking of Valentine’s
Day and creating awareness for heart
health, but in Wyoming, it is also the
final month of the Wyoming Legislature,
and our production team continues to
log hundreds of miles back and forth
to Cheyenne to bring you our weekly
Capitol Outlook series. We hope these
productions have given you insights
into the issues, outcomes and process
at our Wyoming Legislature, and if you
have suggestions for improvement
– we always want to hear those ideas. You can call, write or email

(800-495-9788), and tell us what you think about the series. We want
to meet your needs!
A sad note – and we didn’t learn about it until late – one of our
favorite Wyoming jazz musicians and friends, Ronnie Bedford, died on
December 20, 2014. With Ronnie’s talent, energy and enthusiasm
for music, he founded a 3-day, summer jazz festival in Cody in the
mid-90’s, “Yellowstone Jazz”, and Wyoming PBS produced and aired
a 3-hour series with Ronnie under the same name. We followed those
programs a couple of years ago by producing a new program titled
“Ronnie Bedford and Friends: 80th Birthday Celebration”, and to pay
tribute to Ronnie, we will rebroadcast that program in March. We
are grateful to Ronnie and his wife Janet – and thank them for their
commitment to the arts and for expanding the musical horizons of so
many people in Wyoming.
You’ll note that March 1 IS THE DEADLINE to sign up for our
excursion to London and Highclere Castle, which is where the series
“Downton Abbey” is produced (see page 15 for more information).
The trip is co-sponsored with Casper College, and features Dr. Walt
Nolte, the President of Casper College and noted historian, on the trip,
connecting us with the events of Downton Abbey, the landscape and
our history. If you love Downton Abbey and like to travel – don’t miss

Partners in Health, Part 1
Twenty-five years ago, a young idealistic doctor and a
few associates founded Partners in Health. Their aim
was to find ways to bring greater health care to the
underserved peoples of Haiti. Today, their organization
operates hospitals and clinics around the world. Dr.
Paul Farmer is an international figure in public health,
and has been the subject of a best-selling book “Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer,
a Man Who Would Cure the World.” In 2012 Richard
Ager talked to Dr. Farmer and fellow PIH founder Ophelia Dahl about their lives and work.

One young farmer has transformed a depleted
salts and rock laden dairy ground into a fertile
vegetable farm on a shoe string (with a dose
of Biodynamics). Four years into production,
Scott Richard now produces weekly shares

members of Congress and other agencies
