Most of us are more comfortable in the New Testament or the more well-known stories of the Major Prophets. But the Minor Prophets, which are minor only in the length of their books, hold some interesting prophesies of Jesus’ coming and nature along with concepts that we can see play out over and over in history. Can we take what we learn from history to better our own lives? Can we take it to others to better our church, our town, our state, our country? Join us as we explore these men of God and see what we can learn together. The class will be facilitated by Dianne Ell, an Incarnation parishioner who teaches Religious Ed and is involved with the Justice and Peace Ministry, Women's Guild, Eucharistic Ministry and the Sunday evening choir. Dianne has a BA in Christian Church Ministry and is a Life/Health Coach specializing in families with Autistic and learning disabled children. The classes will meet Wednesdays, February 25, March 4, 11 & 18. There will be two class times. We will meet at 1:00 PM in the Parish Center, or at 7:00 PM, immediately following the Lenten Soup Suppers in room B102. The first class will be on Hosea. Please try to read this short book before the class. If you have any questions or need any additional information, contact Dcn Dominic at [email protected] or 818/627-5595. Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time Incarnation Catholic Church Together in Mission 2015 “Be imitators of me…” 1 Corinthians 11 In today’s readings, we are told, “He tells the number of the stars; he calls each by name.” Though we are many, we are one Church. God calls each of us by name to offer our time, talents, and treasure to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Everything we have is a gift from God, which we are called upon to share. When we give generously, our life is most like His. You are the one who can provide parishes and schools with the resources they need. Your gift can be the one that allows a priest to serve communities in need. It can help a school make essential repairs for the safety of their students. It can enable parishioners to have a place to celebrate Mass. The strength of the Church is not in numbers, but in love. Your contribution, large or small, is the one that matters! Those of you who have supported Together in Mission in the past three years will be mailed a letter and a pledge card from the Together in Mission office. Please bring your pledge card with you next weekend as we make our commitment to this worthy cause. Those of you who have not received a pledge card in the mail will be given a card to fill out at Mass, during the in-pew process for the collection of donation and pledges to this year’s appeal. Over the next week, please prayerfully consider what you feel you can give to support this worthy cause. Incarnation 2015 Goal: $86,900!
