REGIONAL COMPETITION

Doors will open at 7:00 AM. All teams should report to the registration table no later than 45
minutes prior to the beginning of their division. Two free passes will be allotted to each school
for advisors and/or coaches at registration. Additional spectator tickets may be purchased for
$9.00. Children aged five and under, will be admitted free of charge. We ask that you submit an
alphabetized list of all participating students as well as a signed USA medical release form for
each participating student. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE WITHOUT A
MEDICAL RELEASE FORM. ORIGINAL SIGNED RELEASED FORMS ARE
REQUIRED.
First aid staff will be on site to provide assistance for emergencies only. Taping of wrists/ankles
for individual performers will not be available. Any participant who has a suspected
concussion/head injury will not be allowed to return to participation within 24 hours of incident
AND without documentation of being cleared by a physician (MD or DO) through a full
examination
Changes to divisions or solo names - For previously submitted registrations, division/solo name
changes will be accommodated only if notice is submitted in writing (via fax or email) no later
than 21days prior to the affected Regional. If changes are received 20 days or less before the
affected Regional, a $10 fee per division/name change will be due at the time the change is
submitted. Changes to divisions or solo names will not be accepted after the Friday the
week before the event. No exceptions.
There will be no seat saving permitted. All seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis. As a
reminder, the USA and/or John Burroughs High School will not be responsible for lost/stolen
items at the competition. Please encourage team members to leave valuables, bags etc. in their
vehicles. Do not leave bags unattended. For security reasons all competitors must stay in
possession of their bags at all times. We will not permit bags in the facility to save seats.
Competition will begin at 8:00 AM. Please refer to the enclosed tentative performance schedule.
Please check the USA website (http://usa.varsity.com) on the Wednesday before the competition
after 5:00 p.m. (PST), for a final schedule. A final schedule will also be available at the
registration table on the day of the event. All teams must be ready to perform 15 minutes prior to
their scheduled time. Any division changes must be made prior to the competition date. No
changes will be allowed on the day of the event. There will be no practicing on the
performance floor prior to the competition.

Absolutely no hard-soled shoes allowed on gym floor. Tap shoes are not permitted on the
gym surface and character shoes must have a rubber sole & heel. Failure to comply will
result in disqualification. (Dancers are permitted to compete bare-foot or with half-soles,
but must wear full-soled shoes at all times while not on the performance floor.)
Music CDs must be properly labeled with the team name and division. Please hold on to your music
until the time of your performance. A team representative must remain at the sound station during
your team’s performance. The sound technician will be able to accommodate audio CDs and MP3s.
If using an MP3, smart phone, etc. please ensure that there is no case on the device which will
obstruct the jack from plugging into the sound system. If you are using a smart phone, please ensure
that no interruptions (i.e. phone call, alarm, etc.) occur during your performance. Interference
caused by a smart phone that results in routine delay may receive an overtime or delay of contest
penalty.
Scoresheets will be distributed to all teams at the conclusion of awards. Only an authorized team
advisor/coach who is designated at team registration may pick these up. A photo I.D. will be
required for scoresheet pick up. Recaps will be available at score sheet pick-up after each awards.
