How to apply & admission requirements: students taking supplementary courses Academic level The ISUP courses are regular university courses taught in English at either undergraduate or graduate) level, and, therefore, it is strongly recommend that only students with good academic standing apply. It is the students own responsibility to make sure that they are able to follow the courses and pass the exams. Student category: Students taking supplementary courses (incl. Danish + European students taking supplementary courses) How to apply 1. Make sure you fulfil the course prerequisites (student’s own responsibility) 2. Complete online application flow: See link on www.cbs.dk/summer during the application period o o o Enter personal data Select student category Select courses (1 preferred and 1 alternative = 2 in total OR 2 preferred and 2 alternative = 4 in total) 3. Upload documents (required). o A copy of your bachelor degree diploma or a grade transcript with the following statement “the degree has been obtained” signed by your study secretariat o A copy of your passport (photo pages and residence permit stickers, where applicable) or EU identity card. (Only EU/EFTA citizens or persons with a permanent residence permit for Denmark or a temporary residence permit with the possibility of achieving a permanent residence permit can be exempted from paying a tuition fee. Non-EU/ EFTA citizens have to apply as Non-European freemovers (fee-paying students)) o o Supplementary course form (see the website) Supplementary course documentation: a. A copy of the standard assessment of your bachelor degree for 2015, carried out by CBS Admissions Office. Go to http://www.cbs.dk/graduateadmission and click on the graduate programme that you are interested in and go to Standard Assessments at the bottom of the page OR b. A copy of an appraisal for the graduate programme you are applying for (from 2014 or 2015), issued by CBS Admissions Office OR c. A copy of a conditional letter of admission to the graduate programme you are applying for (from 2014 or 2015), issued by CBS Admissions Office OR d. A copy of a letter of rejection to the graduate programme you are applying for (from 2014 or 2015), issued by CBS Admissions Office 4. Go to “print receipt” and your application is complete! If required documents are submitted and approved, you will be exempted from paying the tuition fee. General information Question: I will first get my supplementary course documentation in mid-June 2015 and/ or my Bachelor’s diploma in August 2015. What should I do? Do I have to pay the tuition fee if I cannot submit all documentation by the application deadline? Answer: Please follow the following procedure: Choose one of the following student categories in your electronic application: “Danish student taking supplementary courses” or “European student taking supplementary courses” 1 How to apply & admission requirements: students taking supplementary courses Upload three documents: 1) a copy of your current grade transcript, 2) a copy of your passport and 3) filled out supplementary course form You will be conditionally admitted to ISUP if these three documents are uploaded and approved The deadline for uploading the other missing documents in the application flow is 30 August 2015: 1) A copy of your bachelor degree diploma or a grade transcript with the following statement “the degree has been obtained” signed by a study secretary/ coordinator AND/ OR 2) Supplementary course documentation If you have not submitted the missing documentation on 30 August 2015 at the latest, we will send an invoice for the ISUP courses Please remember to cancel your enrolment at ISUP by 20 June 2015 in case you are not admitted to a Master’s programme at CBS Question: I am a second year Bachelor student and will first graduate in 2016. Can I take supplementary courses for free? Answer: No, you cannot. Only students who can submit a copy of their bachelor degree diploma or a grade transcript with the following statement “the degree has been obtained” signed by a study secretary/ coordinator on 30 August 2015 at the latest, can be exempted from paying the tuition fee. Other students have to apply as Open University students/ Freemovers (fee-paying students) Question: I fulfil the entry requirements for the graduate programme I am applying for, but I want to take ISUP courses and in this way improve my chances in the selection process for a spot in this programme (i.e. I want to take "extra courses"). Can I take these courses for free? Answer: No, you cannot. Only students who need ISUP courses in order to fulfil entry requirements can take ISUP courses free of charge. Those students who fulfil the entry requirements but want to take ISUP courses to improve their chances in the selection process for a spot in the programme they are applying to, have to pay the tuition fee and apply as Open University Students or Freemovers. You can also consult the website of the Admission’s office http://www.cbs.dk/en/study/graduate/graduate-admission-step-1 Disclaimer Please note that fulfilment of ISUP requirements does not entail fulfilment of the entry requirements for full-time programmes at CBS. Also, enrolment at ISUP courses does not guarantee admission to full-time programmes at CBS. ISUP offer regular university courses at both undergraduate and graduate level. The ISUP courses are open to all, but it is the participant’s own responsibility to make sure that he/she is able to follow the individual courses and pass the exam. 2 How to apply & admission requirements: students taking supplementary courses The ISUP course offer is subject to student interest, enrollment and pre-requisites. Due to unforeseen circumstances there might be changes to the overall course offer, and we can’t guarantee a place in all courses for all participants. Level of English Proficiency Fee-paying students are NOT required to submit any proof of English proficiency, but since ALL courses are taught in English it is highly recommended to have a strong command in both oral and written English. The ISUP secretariat recommends all students to have an English proficiency corresponding to any of the tests and certificates listed below: IELTS academic test result of at least 6.5 Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English passed Certificate of Advanced English passed with A or B or C TOEFL iBT test result of at least 91 TOEFL paper-based test result of at least 577 TOEFL ITP institutional test done at CBS with a score of at least 577 Feel free to contact the ISUP secretariat ([email protected]) for any questions you might have. 3
