PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
I hope everyone had a very joyful holiday season. I would like to
thank all the Lions for all the work that they did last year. Our club is only
successful because of all the volunteer hours that are put in which in turn
allows the club to be generous to the community. This year during the
holidays we were able to offer gift cards to many families at Thanksgiving
and give a substantial amount to the food pantry at Christmas. Our club
helped make this a brighter season for many local families.
2015 has indeed arrived and we are already starting on this year’s
activities. Our first big activity is the Crab Feed. This year the Crab Feed is
more important than ever. The Lions Center for the Visually Impaired
(LCVI) .has lost 80% of its state funding. They are really in trouble
financially. Accordingly, the Board voted to give 100% of the profits from
the Crab Feed to the LCVI.
Now here’s the great part about being Lions. The Brentwood and Byron
Delta Lions are joining in with us to make this the greatest Crab Feed ever
and hopefully the most profitable ever. It is still going to require a lot of
work from all of you, but we do have help. If any of you would like to sell
Crab Feed tickets, call me (925-354-1563). If you would like to buy a
ticket go to www.discoverybaylions.com.
Now about the rest of year. At our January 20th Board meeting we will be
discussing the projects for the year. If any of you have something you
would like to see the Lions do – come to the Board meeting or get the
information to one of the Board members. We meet at 6:30 at the
Community Center. All Lions are always welcome.
Our next meeting is right around the corner. We will be installing several
new Lions so please come to meet them on February 3rd.See you at the
meeting.

OBITUARIES
Dear Lions,
We are very sad to inform you that lion Phil Paulson’s wife, Jane Paulson has
passed away.
She was not an official Lion but she had the heart of a lion! She always volunteered
and helped Lion Phil with events such as the run around the lake.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to Jane and Phil Paulson for everything they have done
for the lions club and the community.
Lion Phil, Although words are never adequate in moments like these, our prayers
are with you!
May she rest in peace.
