Shreveport Dixie Baseball
Code of Ethics Pledge
Dixie Baseball Official Rules and Regulations
It is the policy of Dixie Baseball to promote the development of strong character, a right attitude, a sense of responsibility, and
citizenship in youngsters, using the game of baseball as a vehicle. It is the purpose of Shreveport Dixie Baseball, Inc. to achieve this
goal, through fair play, good sportsmanship, and congenial fellowship, with adult leaders providing the example. It is strictly against
the policy of Dixie Baseball for any person, either as a participant or a spectator, to engage in arguments, to use abusive language, to
harass umpires, or to exhibit any behavior not in concert with the general intention of this policy statement.
1) Child abuse, whether it is physical, verbal, or mental will not be tolerated. Shreveport Dixie Baseball, Inc. has
implemented a Simplified Child Abuse/ Molestation Risk Management Program. This program includes criminal
background checks on the primary volunteers that will or could have contact with your child during his or her
participation. An important part of this program is an education program for the entire Shreveport Dixie Baseball
community (coaches, umpires, parents/guardians, volunteers, and of course, players). A copy of the Parents Guide to
Child Abuse/ Molestation Risk Management Program is available on our WEB site at
www.shreveportdixiebaseball.com.
2) Personal problems must be left outside the gate
3) Problems involving a game, official, coach, or team must be handled in a reasonable manner as described in the Dixie
Rules.
4) Harassment of umpires is strictly prohibited.
5) Excessive or destructive behavior will not be permitted. Any acts that might endanger the well being of persons or
damage to property will not be tolerated. This includes swinging bats in undesignated areas, climbing fences, riding
bikes, etc.
6) Profanity is prohibited.
7) Guns, knives, fireworks, or any other item that might endanger or pose a threat are not permitted within the park. Law
Enforcement Officers will be excluded from this rule when it is in compliance with regulations of their profession.

Violators may be permanently ejected from our park. These are serious offences and may result in serious consequences
including arrest if it is warranted.
9) Alcohol and tobacco products are prohibited.
10) Pets are not allowed in the park. An animal, such as a seeing-eye dog is exempt from this rule when assisting its
appropriate owner and equipped with its proper restraints of its duty.
All officials, coaches, parents, and other adults are required to abide by the rules and policies of Shreveport Dixie Baseball, Inc.
Every person entering our ballpark plays a role in the success of the Shreveport Dixie Baseball program. The purpose of this code of

reminder of that commitment.
I pledge to uphold the rules and regulations of Dixie Baseball and Shreveport Dixie Baseball, Inc. I understand that my words and
actions influence the children within this park and commit myself to give positive support, care and encouragement to them. This
pledge is my commitment to place the needs of children first at Shreveport Dixie Baseball. I pledge to make sure my relatives and
