Sometimes when we feel
so alone in a vast wilderness
and all we have is prayer,
God is always with us, and
he opens doors that we can
not see and He sends in His
angels. That prompted me to
write this while drying my
tears of gratitude: Thank
you Lord Jesus for all that
you do for us. Be with all of
our sick friends and all of
the ones that need your
loving and caring arms
wrapped
around
them,
Amen.
Engaging Ministries
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE: WHERE ARE YOU BEING CALLED?
“For even I, the Son of Man, came here not
to be served but to serve others and to give
my life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45 (NLT)
Thank you to everyone who participated
in the Mission Luncheon on January 4th. As
a congregation, you had fantastic suggestions for the church to provide ministry in
the community and outside the walls of the
church. The ideas have been lifted up and
now is the time for us to organize and begin
to implement a community ministry. Not
everything can be accomplished in the beginning so the focus will probably be on one
suggestion initially. The success of our
ministry will depend on the participation of
many people. Prayerfully consider where
you are being called and be prepared to say
yes when your help is requested.
Looking ahead, March 29, 2015, will be
the next 5th Sunday, the Sundays we have
chosen to donate food for the Food Pantry.

TO ENROLL IN THE COMMUNITY REWARDS
PROGRAM:

bulletin board in the Narthex)
If you already have your Dillons Plus card registered
online you will choose the “Sign In” button and log in
with your information then click “Enroll Now” you will
be taken to a screen to find your organization, our
organization number is 10252, follow the directions on
the screen to finish registration.
you have to “renew” this once a year. Then you will need
to enter the number found on the back of your Dillons
Plus card below the barcode or your alternate ID Number,
which is generally your phone number, and then click
Save. You should now be taken to a screen to Find Your
Organization, you will enter 10252 into the box and click
Search, then click the circle next to United Methodist
Church and click Enroll.
If you don’t have an email address or computer access
you can call 1-800-576-4377 and select Option #3 and
they will assist you. If you would like to register more
than one card per email address you will also need to call
the above number. You can only register one card per
email address online.
If you do not have your Dillons Plus card registered
online already you will choose “Create an Account” and If you need assistance please stop by the church office
fill in the information the next screen asks for and then during normal office hours and Nancy will be happy to
click Create Account, you will want to write down your assist you.

New Lenten Bible Studies
Forgiveness by Marjorie J. Thompson, an Advent Bible Study
Forgiving others and humbly asking for
forgiveness are central disciples for all
Christian believers. Lent is an appropriate
time to deepen our understanding and
practice of forgiveness. In six brief chapters
Thompson uses biblical examples and real-
life situations to illustrate each chapter's
theme in an informative and engaging way.
The study will be Sunday nights at 6pm at
the Parsonage starting Feb. 15th and going
through March 29th.
The GOD We Can Know
by Bob Fuquay, a video Advent Bible Study
Travel to the Holy Land with Rob Fuquay
and see the places where Jesus stood as he
made his "I am" declarations. In this fast
paced, fascinating video, you'll journey
from the Judean wilderness to the Galilean
hills and into the heart of Jerusalem. Join us
Tuesday nights at 6pm in the Parlor
starting Feb. 17th through March 31st.
Shirley Brownlee is going to be leaving us
soon and while we can't fill her shoes we
do need some people who are willing to
help fill her positions!
