“Miller Lite Tap the Future is the ultimate competition for entrepreneurs who want to be recognized and
rewarded for following their true passion,” said John. “I encourage all entrepreneurs to apply for a chance
to get their original idea out there and receive advice on how to take it to the next level.”
In its two-year run, Tap the Future has garnered more than 4,000 entries, has awarded $700,000 in funding
and has driven its alums towards success. The most recent grand prize winners are a group of former
fraternity brothers that founded Bellhops, a national moving service that utilizes college students to
facilitate residential moves at an affordable cost. Other program winners include Notre Dame alums Sean
O’Brien and Evan Wray of Swyft Media, a sticker and emoji company that mobile messaging apps, such
as Viber, Kik, Tango and Paltalk, can utilize as part of their services. Poised for success, the company was
recently acquired for $27 million just one year after winning the grand prize.
“The original light beer exists because Frederick Miller followed his passion against all odds, so it is
important for Miller Lite to support entrepreneurs who want to pursue theirs,” said Steve Canal,
MillerCoors manager of community commerce and partnerships. “Not only does Miller Lite Tap the
Future offer entrepreneurs the chance to interact with top business experts like Daymond John, but it also
provides the tools and funding resources to help bring great ideas to life.”
Miller Lite Tap the Future has partnered with South by Southwest (SXSW), the annual music, film and
interactive conference and festival taking place March 13-22 in Austin, Texas. Attendees that visit the
Miller Lite booth will have the opportunity to submit an application, network with like-minded
entrepreneurs and share original ideas.

About Miller Brewing Company
Miller Brewing Company was founded in 1855 by Frederick J. Miller when he purchased the Plank Road Brewery in
Milwaukee, a city he chose as the best place for a brewery given its access to great water. Miller Lite, the original greattasting light pilsner beer, (MillerLite.com, Facebook.com/MillerLite, @MillerLite on Twitter) was introduced nationally in
1975 and is among the top-five selling beers in the United States. Miller Fortune (MillerFortune.com,
Facebook.com/MillerFortune, @MillerFortune on Twitter) is brewed with caramel malt and cascade hops for a balanced taste
and smooth finish. The brewery’s oldest enduring beer is Miller High Life (MillerHighLife.com,
Facebook.com/MillerHighLife, @MillerHighLife on Twitter). Known as the Champagne of Beers, it was introduced in 1903
and is still brewed with the same yeast strain that Miller carried in his pocket from Germany. Miller Genuine Draft
(MGD.com, Facebook.com/MillerGenuineDraft, @Miller_Global on Twitter), introduced in 1986, is the original coldfiltered, packaged draft beer. Miller Brewing Company operates in the United States and Puerto Rico as part of MillerCoors,
a joint venture of SABMiller plc and Molson Coors Brewing Company. Learn more at MillerCoors.com, at
