WCLS OPEN HOUSE
White Creek Lutheran School
will hold its annual open
house this Friday, February 6,
with snow date of next
Monday, February 9. Open
House hours will be 8:30 AM
- 2:30 PM. You are invited to
sit in on classes during the
course of the day. Teachers
will be available to answer
questions in between instruction times. If you plan on
being at school for lunch,
please contact the school a
few days in advance to make
your reservation.

PRE-REGISTRATION
FORMS
A pre-registration form and
fee information for the 20152016 school year was sent
with the youngest student of
each family last Thursday,
January 29 (Kindergarten
students received this last
Friday). The $35 per student
pre-registration fee should be
returned to school with the
form. Please note that enrollment will be open to the general public as of this Friday,
February 6, so forms need to
be returned before then.
SCRIP
A Scrip order form is being
sent with the youngest student
of each family today and may
be returned with payment by
next Thursday, February 12.
ATHLETIC BANQUET
The Athletic Banquet will be
held on Sunday, March 1.
ALL 8th grade students will
be recognized at this banquet.
Please mark your calendars
and watch for details in
upcoming newsletters.
EIGHTH GRADERS
Eighth graders are asked to
bring in 3 baby photos (infant,
toddler, pre-school age) by
next week, Friday, February 6,
for the athletic banquet presentation. The banquet is
scheduled for March 1.

The classroom with the
highest percentage collected
per student will win a special
class treat! It would be
greatly appreciated if box
tops would be trimmed and
counted when sent in.
COLUMBUS EAST
HIGH SCHOOL 8TH
GRADE PARENT
NIGHT
Columbus East High School
will hold parent night for
incoming freshmen students
next Wednesday, February
11, at the Robbins
Auditorium, beginning at
6 PM. The East counselors
will be at WCLS on Friday,
February 20, to help students with scheduling and
will return on Friday,
February 27, to pick up
students’ schedules.
STAMP CLUB
Stamp Club will meet next
Wednesday, February 11,
from 3:00-4:15 PM.
Students have received a
registration form which
needs to be returned with
the materials fee by this
Friday, February 6.
Students will be making
Valentines to send to St.
John’s shut-ins and to keep
for personal use.
WCLS School Notes
ALUMINUM CAN DRIVE
WCA will be sponsoring an
aluminum can drive next
week, Thursday-Sunday,
February 13-15. A trailer will
be parked on the school
grounds to receive items.

CALENDARS!
Mrs. Barnett just wanted to
give parents of 6-8 graders a
heads up that the field trip to
the Indians baseball game will
be on Tuesday, April 14!
DRAMA CLUB
Students in 3rd-8th grades are
invited to participate in the
Drama Club! Drama Club will
meet Tuesdays and Thursdays
after school until 4:15 PM for
three weeks only, beginning
next Tuesday, February 10.
Students will learn theater
basics and practice speaking
and acting skills. Interested
students should see Mrs.
Vandercar for a permission
form.

Trinity Lutheran High School
invites students and their
families to its final open house
on Sunday, February 15, from
2:00-4:00 PM. All interested
eighth grade students will
receive a $75 voucher that
covers half of the registration
costs at Trinity for the 20152016 school year. Please enter

VALENTINE DATE
NIGHT BABYSITTING
St. John’s White Creek Youth
will be providing Valentines
Date Night babysitting for
children through 5th grade on
Friday, February 13, from
6:00-10:00 PM. Bring your
children to the school gym and
enjoy a night out! A free-will
donation will be accepted.
Snacks (not a meal) will be
provided.
ALL-SCHOOL QUILT
Parents are invited to stop in
and see the quilt that White
Creek students designed in
celebration of White Creek’s
175th anniversary this year.
Also on display in the front
hallway is the student quilt
from 1990-the 150th anniversary.
MEMORIAL CHILI
SUPPER
The Columbus FFA Chapter
will sponsor the Annual Frank
Burbrink Memorial Chili
Supper on Friday, February
20, from 5:00-8:00 PM in the
Family Arts Building at the
Bartholomew County Fairgrounds. There will also be a
silent auction with items that
were generously donated from
businesses in the community.
Free-will donations will be
received for the supper. All
proceeds will go toward scholarships for the Columbus FFA
seniors. (Frank Burbrink was
the uncle of Josie and Grace
Burbrink.)
