The Bishop has asked us to help him respond to questions sent to him by Pope Francis and the Synod
Fathers in preparation for the Synod on Marriage and the Family that will take place this October. He especially
asks that all levels of the Church’s life respond to these questions. Therefore, he has put a questionnaire on line in
both English and Spanish that he asks all of you to fill out on line in the next two weeks. This is an important
contribution we can make to the prayerful reflection of the whole Church on this important part of our life. The
questionnaire can be found at: www.oaklanddiocese.org/survey.

Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and
earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus
Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all
ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all
things were made; For us men and for our salvation he came down
from heaven,
(all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death
and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with
the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right
hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living
and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father
and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and
glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one,
holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the
forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Sanctus (Holy, Holy)
Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts.
Heav’n and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the
Lord. Hosanna...
Mystery of Faith
Preparation of the Gifts: Come to Me
Amen
Agnus Dei (Lamb of God)
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
Have mercy on us. Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
Have mercy on us. Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
Grant us peace. Grant us peace.

Ordinario
Entrada: Vamos Cantando al Señor
Credo Niceno
la Virgen, y se hizo hombre;
Y por nuestra causa fue crucificado en tiempos de Poncio Pilato;

(Estribillo)
3. Tú que quitas el pecado del mundo, ten piedad de nosotros;
(a Estrofa 4)

(BIS)
Salida: Gracias, Señor
Comunión: Qué Detalle, Señor
Estribillo
Qué detalle, Señor, has tenido conmigo
qué detalle, Señor, has tenido conmigo.
Estrofas
2. Yo dejé casa y pueblo por seguir tu aventura.
Codo a codo contigo comencé a caminar.
¡Qué sosiego me inunda cunado oigo tu voz!
¡Qué emoción me estremece cunado escucho en silencio
tu palabra que aviva mi silencio interior!

Give and it will be given unto – XI
Jesus said “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” When I go to confession I spend some time in an examination of
conscience, and a good measure of where I am in my spiritual life can be found when I look at my priorities: what is really
important to me? A spiritual director I had some time ago said that in order to determine my “real” priorities as opposed to my
“wishful thinking” priorities, I needed to look at the ledger in my check book. Where did I spend my money? At the time I was
still working as an RN, paying rent and such, but those don’t determine priorities. It is “discretionary” spending; how much went
for entertainment, hobbies and things I didn’t need? How much went to the Church and to other charities? How much went to
people in need? I was surprised to learn where my actual priorities were; although I tithed to the Church, the amount I spent on
frivolous stuff was far in excess. That surprised me. At the time I was discerning for seminary, and I realized that I was carrying
quite a bit of credit card debt; not for anything important, but again for frivolities. Knowing that I needed to be debt free to enter the
seminary, I began a systematic process of allocating funds to pay off the debt and to make my hoped-for priority a reality. I began
to understand that if following Jesus along that road toward the seminary was really my priority, I had better make it be reflected in
my check book. IHM pray for us. Fr. Jerry
me sorprendió. En aquel tiempo yo estaba discerniendo por el seminario, y realize que tenia muchas deudas de tarjetas de crédito;
Jerry

once a quarter. Please watch the bulletin for our next Mass which will
happen in Lent. Although we will not be doing monthly healing
Masses in 2015, all are welcome to join our prayer group in the
Chapel every Monday. We begin with the rosary at 7pm and then
move into a more Charismatic type of prayer meeting at 7:30pm. If
you or anyone you know is in need of prayer, please join us. Although
our group is Catholic, you do not need to be Catholic to attend or to
receive prayer. All are welcome! For more information call Julie at

THE PSALMS IN LENT
Join Father Jim for a day of reflection on Lenten themes
in the Psalms. We will look at the six Penitential Psalms,
which enunciate themes of guilt, forgiveness and
repentance, as well as Psalms 22, 31 and 69, which
foreshadow the Passion of Christ. Jesus quoted Psalms
22 and 31 from the Cross. Saturday, February 21.
Continental breakfast at 9:30am; talk is 10-3 and lunch is
provided. An rsvp to Father Jim or the office by Feb. 19
would be appreciated.
