We’ve enhanced our lighting range for 2015.
Our new dimmable luminaires come with DALI
dimmable control gear so you can directly link any
presence, occupancy or daylight control device to
dim or switch off when not in use. Options include
T5/T8 weatherproof, batten, surface fluorescent
and recessed modular fittings.
To meet demand we have added a double
switched socket with twin USB for recharging
devices. Our new dry lining metal flame guard
boxes offer an intumescent insert for fire protection
and acoustic properties to BS EN standards.
The emergency luminaires range has been
extended, improved and is now all LED. The new
multi purpose LED bulkhead can be used in
many applications including high performance
where wide spacing is required, as an outdoor LED
bulkhead or exit sign.
We’ve upgraded our fire rated downlighter GU10 can
and lamp holder and made it fully enclosed, making
it one of the first of its kind to meet the requirements
of the Building Regulations Parts B, C & E.
The new data accessories range now includes
fully assembled wall-mounted data cabinets with
adjustable 19" profiles and lockable glass doors.
The 16 port Cat5e and Cat6 Rear Punch IDC patch
panels have been replaced by 24 port models.
We‘ve added high quality moulded Cat5e patch
leads for data, voice and ISDN patching. Made from
100% stranded copper core, they are also suitable
for power over Ethernet. Data module frames are
available in 1 Gang 2 module or 2 Gang 4 module
for housing Euro Style 25 x 50mm modules.
We’ve also introduced grid switch dimmers,
offering flicker-free dimming for LEDs.

Lamps
Industrial Control
Our new LED 12V MR16 and 240V GU10 lamps
provide energy efficient direct replacements for
standard halogen. In response to ever increasing
demand we’ve also added T5 & T8 tubes that
offer low wattage, long life and high lumen output.
The new extended range of enclosures now covers
even more types including clear lid IP55, high
lid IP55 and larger GRP and steel units. Further
additions include cable marker kits.
Fire & Security
HVAC
Our smoke and heat alarms now all have push fit
bases as standard. Not only are they compatible
with previous Newlec alarms, they are easy to
fit, saving valuable installation time. The new
thermally enhanced optical alarms can be used
in place of either ionisation or optical alarms and
offer increased sensitivity and quicker response
times. Our two wire fire alarm systems now benefit
from multipoint scatter sensor design to deliver
the most reliable smoke and/or heat detection
while significantly reducing the risk of nuisance
fire alarms. The access control range introduces
a new IP68 rated keypad. It is heavy duty, vandal
resistant and completely waterproof. The keypad
can also be used as a proximity reader when
purchased with the compatible access cards.
Our improved and extended range of HVAC
products includes new all-purpose continuous
running fans. Available in both axial or filterless
centrifugal versions, they offer energy efficiency,
the flexibility to be installed in any room and are
virtually silent running. There have also been
improvements in the traditional intermittent fan
range with 4" low profile fans now available with
a stylish new front grille, as well as a quiet version
with one of the lowest decibel levels on the market.
Cable Management
Tools & Fasteners
The new RG6 Shotgun twin satellite cable
enables faster installation than traditional
types. The new gel connector covers give you
a fully weatherproof connection and are fully
submersible to significant depths. If you require
a gel insulator for other applications, it is now
available in tube and bottle form.
In response to popular demand, we’ve expanded
our tool range which now includes SDS chisels,
step and cone drills, cable cutters and jigsaw
blades. We’ve also added two new first aid kits
to our PPE range, and a range of screws, plugs
and fixings in durable, resealable tubs with carry
handles. Furthermore, the new concrete screw is
self tapping, saving time during installation.
Our energy efficient storage heaters offer potential
savings of over 30% against traditional manual
versions, while our electric radiators offer individual
room-by-room central heating control to suit the
users requirement at a lower cost than many
other forms of traditional installed electric heating.

We hold an employee awareness week every
year on environmentally responsible habits.
‘Eco-Days’ took place throughout the Newey
& Eyre branch network, the goal of which was
to raise awareness about sustainability and
encourage environmentally friendly behaviour
at work. Some of the themes addressed were
– using consumables (paper, printing etc.),
waste sorting and energy management (lights,
air‑conditioning etc.).
We strive to provide solutions that generate
energy savings. In partnership with our suppliers,
every year we enhance our range to make sure
the solutions proposed are easy to implement.
With an extensive line of green products and
solid expertise in the field, we can help advise
you to choose energy saving solutions.
Our prefabrication service offers environmentally
friendly manufacturing, reducing transportation
and product waste on site, further reducing the
carbon footprint.

a free-of-charge* recycling service for
WEEE products, batteries and lamps
at selected branches.
• Simply return your waste products
to your local Newey & Eyre branch
and we’ll organise the recycling. We’ll
also issue you with all the statutory
paperwork.
• A small charge may be made to cover
the production of statutory paperwork
or to handle technically complex items
such as smoke detectors.

lamps and tubes from their own site.

direct recycling service for all general
WEEE and battery recycling.
• Customers will be issued with a lamp
container free of charge if this is filled
each month (rental fees may apply for
infrequent collections).
• Simply purchase or rent your WEEE/
Battery containers from Newey & Eyre.
• All subsequent uplifts, replacement
empty containers, paperwork and
recycling is then free for our customers.
• A complete range of WEEE/Battery
containers are available including bins,
boxes, battery bins, metal skips, data
stores, etc.
• Newey & Eyre will arrange for these
containers to be installed on your site.
• When they are 90% full, simply contact
Newey & Eyre and the container will be
uplifted and replaced with an empty one.

The DALI symbol indicates that the luminaire is
compatible with any DALI enabled control system
and occupancy detector.
WARRANTIES
Traditional Luminaires
(Non-LED) Warranty
The luminaire guarantee includes the housing
(body), ballasts or control gear. Only wearing parts
such as light sources and rechargeable emergency
batteries are exempt from the guarantee.
Rechargeable emergency batteries must be
used in accordance with the relevant product
and applications specification. Limit values for
temperatures and voltages must not be exceeded
and the product not exposed to any mechanical
stress. Because of this the guarantee covers
solely product failures caused by material, design
or production faults.
The warranty period commences from date
of purchase and is only available on products
purchased directly from Newey & Eyre.
LED Warranty
Newey and Eyre uses tried and tested
components from leading suppliers; however
there may be isolated instances of technology
related failures of individual Light Emitting Diode’s
(LED’s) during the rated product lifetime.
In most products a failure of less than ten (10)
percent or three (3) LEDs, whichever the greater
causes no functional impairment to the lighting
performance of the luminaire and is therefore no
reason for complaint.

RoHS Regulations
Electrically Latched (Active): The device trips with
loss of supply and/or loss of neutral. Suitable for
applications that would be potentially dangerous
if they restarted unattended upon restoration of
power e.g. hedge trimmers, power tools, machine
tools and manufacturing equipment.
All Newlec products are either compliant with
the requirements of the RoHS regulations or are
exempt and therefore not covered by the scope of
these regulations.
Guarantees
Please note guarantee excludes lamps and batteries.
Pricing
Mechanically Latched (Passive): These devices
trip only with detection of current leakage.
Contacts do not open upon loss of supply e.g.
For use with vending machines, fridge/freezers,
water filtration and other systems with which
automatic restart is desirable after power loss.
Please note prices shown are rounded to two decimal
places and are for guidance only. They may be subject
to changes in material costs. Prices charged will be
those ruling at date of despatch. E. & O.E.

from date of purchase and is for either a number
of years or the number of hours in use (to be
proved by the buyer), whichever comes first. For
the purposes of this warranty, unless actual hours
can be proved by the purchaser, the number of
hours of usage shall be deemed to be 4,380

available on products purchased directly from
Newey & Eyre.
If the product has been discontinued or is no
longer available, Newey & Eyre will provide
an alternative of similar specification and
quality. Newey & Eyre is not responsible for any
mis‑matches with other installed products.
General Points for Both Warranties
All sales are subject to Rexel UK Limited’s
standard terms of sale. In the event of any
conflict between the wording set out in this
document and the standard terms the standard
terms of Rexel UK Limited shall prevail.
All prices subject to VAT at the current prevailing rate.
During the warranty period Newey & Eyre
undertakes to repair or replace free of charge at
our sole discretion either the whole or any part
of the product that Newey & Eyre deems to be
defective as a result of material or manufacturing
fault always on the condition that such repair or
replacement is consistent with the manufacturer’s
warranty or guarantee that is in place.
Once a repair or replacement is provided the
warranty will remain as per the remaining time
period of the original product purchase date and
not the replacement/repair date.
