Feb. 27 – Mar. 1 at Sts. Peter and Paul Retreat Center in Newark.

Catholic Social Ministry Gathering Please pray for our six
student service trip leaders and our campus minister who are
going to Washington, D.C. Feb. 6-10 to participate in the national
USCCB Catholic Social Ministry Gathering. This annual Catholic
conference, organized by the USCCB Department of Justice,
Peace and Human Development, brings together over 20 national
Catholic charity and justice organizations along with hundreds
of participants whose faith inspires them to respond to pressing
current domestic and global challenges relating to poverty,
war, injustice and the promotion of human life and dignity. The
experience culminates with a visits to Capitol Hill to do advocacy
work with our local Ohio senators and representatives.

council is collecting blankets and winter coats for those in
need. Please bring new or clean, gently used blankets and
coats to the Newman Center and place in the collection cart in
the North Gathering Space. We will be collecting these items
from Jan. 18 - Feb. 8. Items will be donated the St. Vincent

be making over 400 sandwiches to be served at St. Lawrence

Lydia’s House This women’s spirituality group will meet at the
Newman Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5. Anne Mischo will
reveal the name of the foundress and religious order who built
a tunnel to be able to work with the poor. (We learned about
them in a previous year, and detective work was required to
find them again so we could revisit this meaningful moment in
history.) Lydia’s House meets the first Thursday of the month for

Landings: Welcoming Inactive Catholics! Do you know
someone who might benefit from this program? Landings,
a ministry of the Paulist Fathers and the Newman Center’s
Reconciliation Team, is an eight week program geared toward
welcoming returning and inactive Catholics. In this program

Columbus Young Catholic Professionals On Feb. 5, the
Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Feb. 1:
brand-new Columbus Young Catholic Professionals (CYCP) group
is hosting a social event at the Newman Center! There will be light
snacks and beverages, and Paulist seminarian Stu Wilson-Smith
will be speaking to the group about being a Catholic young adult
in this day and age. Afterwards, the group is heading to the Little
Bar for continued socializing! The event will be held at 7 p.m. in
the Social Hall. A five dollar donation to the CYCP is suggested,
but not required. If you’re a grad-student or alumni, this is the
group for you! Please come out and make some new friends who
share our faith!

2015 Diocesan Respect Life Conference The keynote
speaker for this day focused on “Each of Us is a Masterpiece of
God’s Creation” is Bishop Frederick Campbell. The day, Saturday,
March 7, begins with Mass at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception
Church, 414 E. North Broadway, Columbus, followed by the
conference, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Registration is $20 and includes lunch.
