Happy 2015! This past year has been one of many in helping families of
lower income in our community achieve their hopes and dreams of owning
their own home. It is fitting to celebrate the many accomplishments that you
all have shared over the past year. 2014 was awesome and we will continue
to unlock the dreams of our partner families in the many years to come by
partnering with our community volunteers, leaders, businesses, churches and
youth. Thank you for all that you do now and for the future of our
organization. In 2014:
 4 Habitat partner families received new homes.
 192 total family members including 119 children have been touched with
new homes equaling 70,080 nights per year having a safe place to sleep.
We have built 59 homes since 1996.
 145 people were able to stay in their existing homes, avoid code violations
and have a secure place to live through our Neighborhood Revitalization
Initiative.
 49 women volunteers logged over 400 volunteer hours during our
Women Build week in May.
 635 different people volunteered with Habitat.
 More than 13,600 hours were given by our volunteers, which equates to a
savings of $306,815 in labor costs.
 45 different churches, organizations and companies volunteered with us.
 $173,760 in total ReStore sales this past year.
 13 ½ tons of scrap metal was recycled.
 We hosted Salem State University, Ohio State University & University of
Missouri, participating in alternative spring, summer and fall breaks.
 Over 1,000 people, representing over 23 churches and organizations
helped with St. Joe Serve.
Believe me when I say those were JUST the highlights! None of this could
have been accomplished without you! Thank you for your support and
helping us unlock the dreams and hopes of our partner families. We look
forward to an awesome and productive 2015.

58th House Blessing
In June we blessed our 58th home on S. 17th Street. This is our first
Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) home. An airtight SIP home will use
less energy to heat and cool, allow for better control over indoor
environmental conditions, and reduce construction waste making the
home an inherently green product. During this journey Laressa said
she “learned that family is not only blood, but is also someone that
supports and loves you and looks out for your best interests in life. “
She said working with Habitat has been “very rewarding” and she
knows this is the greatest opportunity that she and her children have
ever received.
59th House Blessing
The Claycomb family moved into their 5 bedroom
home at 812 S. 11th Street the beginning of
December, just in time to celebrate Christmas in
their new home! A total of over 4,000 volunteer
hours were logged to build this home and we
could not have done it without everyone’s
support. Thank you for continuing to help us
build and revitalize our St. Joseph community.

November 13, 2014. The sold-out crowd of 200 Habitat supporters were
entertained by Fresh Cut Grass and dined on a delicious meal provided by
Luna’s Fine Dining. In fitting with the theme of “Unlock the Dream”, the
attendees were treated to dinner served “home-style” by our very own

JOIN our Hearts & Hammers
Club and
help a homeowner!
One way to support St. Joseph Habitat for
Humanity is to become one of our Hearts &
Hammers Club members. We currently have
over 300 Club members who support Habitat in
a very special way. Once a new home is built
for a partner family and we plan our home
blessing for the family, our Club members send
in their donations to help support the building
of a new home for another family. Our Club
members are committed to helping provide
simple, decent, affordable homes for low
income families in our community. We are very
fortunate to have such generous and supportive
Club members.
St. Joseph Habitat for Humanity’s Hearts &
Hammers Club has been in existence for over
12 years and is made up of businesses,
individuals, churches, and organizations that
are committed to changing lives, building
community and hope in St. Joseph.
If you are interested in learning more about our
Hearts & Hammers Club or are interested in
becoming a member, please contact Patrice
