Parish Offices Dear Parishioners Parish Activities When Jesus walked on the face of this earth, what was he concerned about? Perhaps today’s gospel gives us an answer. Jesus didn’t necessarily come to heal the sick and drive out demons. Matthew’s Gospel (the Sermon on the Mount best describes his mission. “Seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, www.NotreDamedelaMer.org and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33). In other words, Jesus came to proclaim the Good News of the kingdom of God; to invite all people to let God be the King of their hearts and Pastor Team lives; and to reconcile themselves with God and with one another. Rev. Michael J. Field x217 How often have we looked for physical and material well-being Rev. Joseph D. Wallace x215 without first making peace with God? Are we looking for Jesus for Rev. Gustavo Agudelo x214 the wrong reasons? Are we looking for him just for the things we want? Or are we interested in what Jesus came to give? Jesus is Deacon interested in our spiritual well-being as well as our physical; our Deacon Joseph R. Pierce moral as well as our material needs; and our social as well as our psychological pursuits. We need not put the cart before the horse – Pastoral Associate we need not to miss the point of his coming. We need to stop and Seniors’ Ministries listen to his message.
