FOREST PARK JR. SR. HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS Wednesday, February 4, 2015 Forest Park Jr. Sr. High School will challenge all students to reach their full potential, will prepare them for successful futures, and will do so in a safe, caring, and respectful environment. NaHoSo applications for current juniors and sophomores can now be picked up from Mrs. Howard in the library. The Art Club will be taking orders for chocolate roses during all lunch periods this week. The roses will be delivered Feb 12th during lunch time. The roses cost .50 each. The Forest Park Tracer is on sale for $50.00. After March 2nd the price will increase to $52.00. Turn in money to Ms. Taylor. Make checks payable to Forest Park Yearbook. The spirit club is going to keep track of student attendance. There will be a sign up sheet at the concession stand at every event and if you want to be counted, you must sign the correct page for your grade. The winning classes will receive points which will be added up at the end of the year. The winning class will receive a prize! Young Women LEAD Conference is March 11, 2015 8:15-2:00 at VUJC. This is an excused absence from school. Registration opens at 8 am on February 2nd and is limited to 365 students. More information can be found at www.youngwomenlead.com. Any student interested in playing Jr. High Baseball needs to sign up in the office by February 6th. Anyone who signed up to participate in Junior High track this year is asked to meet in the JH gym during homeroom on Wednesday, February 4. If you haven't signed up and would still like to do so, please come to the meeting. The junior high girls tennis club is looking for a coach this spring. Throughout high school, you will receive information and resources to help you stay on track. College Goal Sunday 2015 will take place at 2 p.m. (local time), Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 37 sites in 30 Indiana communities. The program will begin promptly at 2 p.m., and most sites close by 4 p.m. College Goal Sundayprovides on-site help from financial aid experts for completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). All students who are college bound, regardless of family income, must complete the FAFSA if they desire to receive any financial aid - loans, grants, or scholarships to supplement their cost for college. Students 23 years of age or younger should attend with their parent(s) or guardian(s) and bring their parents' completed 2014 IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 Forms and other 2014 income, asset and benefits information. If students worked last year, they should also bring their earnings income information. Also, prior to attending each parent/student will need to have obtained a PIN number (U. S. Department of Education Personal Identification Numbers) by going towww.pin.ed.gov for their online filing of the FAFSA. The State of Indiana FAFSA filing deadline is March 10, 2015 by midnight, Central Standard Time. Each college may have a different deadline. Check with the college(s) the student is interested in attending. Also ask about their definition of an application deadline - whether it is the date they receive the student's FAFSA application or the date they actually process the student's FAFSA application.
