d February 2015 INSURANCE & LITIGATION MEETING: THERE’S STILL TIME TO ATTEND! Additional meeting capacity has been added for residents wanting to understand how the Association’s insurance coverage works and what happens when there is a loss affecting your unit. The emphasis will be on losses involving pipes that leak or burst. The goal is to have every attendee understand: • The repair and recovery process • Who pays to repair the pipes • Who pays to repair the resultant damage • What if your neighbor’s pipe leaks into your unit. • What if your pipe leaks into your neighbor’s unit • Do you need insurance? Over the past year, too many residents did not know the correct answers to these important questions until after they had experienced a loss. Accordingly, Board Member Tom Muirhead has volunteered to hold meetings with interested homeowners to review these scenarios so you can take steps now to protect yourself. This will be a relaxed, informal gathering where you may ask questions and obtain the information you need. Additionally, updates and answers on the pending litigation and Special Assessment will also be provided. • • • • Why is there a special assessment? Who is responsible? Will there be more ?
