We got back from the King City Winterfest, where Russ and a lot
of folks from here enjoyed dancing several days. It is always nice to
see familiar faces when you go to a festival so you feel “at home”
when you are dancing.
On February 8 we are having an early Valentine Dance with
calling by Steve Woodard, along with cueing by Dave Cleek.
On February 22, Darren Gallina will call for us again for a fun
dance, with Dave Cleek doing the cueing for this one.
As of this writing, our new dancers have just finished learning
their calls through Mainstream and were introduced to Tea Cup Chain
as their first Plus call. They are coming along nicely, just needing
always more floor time to hone up their skills. They appreciate
everyone sharing the floor with them, and it helps them to dance
better with all you experienced dancers too. We hope most of them
will be interested in attending their first festival in Bakersfield in
March, they have the choice of dancing in the Mainstream hall and
possibly the Plus, depending on how much they can learn by March
20.
I have just started booking callers for 2016 for our dances, and
was able to get a few right off the bat that are great callers and whom
we appreciate coming to the Central Coast to call for us. If there are
special callers you have danced to that you enjoy listening to, please
let me know and I will contact them.

The Do Pasos began the new year with dancing! Square
dancing certainly keeps us in tip top shape! So come and join us and
keep the good health going in February, when we will once again
dance to the great calling of Jay Henderson. Bring your sweetheart to
the dance! Don’t forget your sweet treat! Happy Birthdays go out to
Edie Kildow, February 2nd and Rick Hamilton February 23rd and of
course Abraham Lincoln! We hope you are all in good health and
plan on attending our Thursday, February 12th dance. Dances begin
at 7:00 at the Paso Robles Grange Hall.
