Saint Ann’s Parish
5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 8, 2015
I hope everyone got to read the article on St. Ann’s in the January 22 edition of Catholic New
York. They gave us wonderful coverage of our participation in “No Room at the Inn” during Advent. It
was so wonderful to see St. Ann’s on the front page! I hope you are as proud of yourselves as I am of you
for your tremendous accomplishment this past Christmas. I am especially grateful to the Knights of
Columbus for spearheading this campaign. Since their founding in our parish almost two years ago, the Fr.
DiFalco Council has done some wonderful things for us, and I am eagerly anticipating the many other
functions they will be providing. Of course, the Knights are always looking for a few good men. Following
the vision of our founder, Fr. Michael McGivney (whose cause for canonization has been introduced), we
strive to foster growth in the faith by being living examples of Catholic life through spiritual growth and
apostolic service to the parish and the local community. We also have an awful lot of fun! I know there is
no shortage of activities for men to join these days, but often we get despondent over the negative things
we see all around us in the news and long for a way to try to change the world and make it a better place,
even if only in a small way. If you are looking to be involved in an activity that will bring greater meaning
into your life and that will help you feel like you’ve accomplished something positive to make the world a
better place, then the Knights of Columbus is for you! The Council meets on the second and fourth
Mondays of every month in Fr. Anthony Hall. If you are a Catholic man eighteen years of age or older
who is in regular practice of his faith, why not consider joining the Knights? For more information, speak
to Fr. Carrozza or any member of the Knights of Columbus. We’d be pleased to have you in our company!
The Catholic Widows and Widowers of Yonkers
will hold its next meeting on Thursday, February 19,
2015 at 1 PM in the afternoon. The meeting will be
held at Fr. Anthony Hall, St. Ann’s Church, 31 College
Place, Yonkers, NY. New members are welcome. For
more info please call 914-423-5331.
