We would like to present, with great pleasure, the 2nd issue, volume 11 of our Journal of Architectural/Planning
Research and Studies (JARS). This peer-reviewed journal was envisioned to represent recent research
developments in a very wide range of aspects of the built and social environments from theoretical aspects to
application-based studies. And we are pleased to announce that from this year, our journal will be published
on a biannual basis. This issue contains 6 articles from both architecture and planning dimensions. The first
paper addresses the topic on Real-Time 3D Presentation System for Heterogeneous Architectural Knowledge,
Case Study: Wat Sri-Chum, Sukhothai. The second paper presents about the Potential of Energy Saving from
Daylight Usage under Ministerial Regulation. The impact of urban heat island on daily life of people in Bangkok
and its vicinity was discussed in the third paper. The next paper describes the Study of the Design Process for
Development and Conservation of China Town District: A Case Study of Weangnakonkasem Community. Another
paper presents the Study of the Expiration of Comprehensive Plans and their Impacts on Local Development in the
Northern Region. The final paper describes the Physical Characteristics and Ventilation Pattern in Uthai Thani city. This
issue also includes the book review of “Transparency by Colin Rowe and Robert Slutzky” and topic of “Potential
works in BMR transit-oriented development: lesson learned from the past” is also discussed in the article review.
We thank all of you who have kindly continually supported and contributed to our journal over the years
and we are grateful to the authors, external reviewers of the manuscripts and editorial staffs for their continued
advice and supports.
