Did you know that Sean Connery was not the first choice to play
the action hero, James Bond? He was the Director’s fourth choice.
George Clooney wanted to be a professional basketball player,
but when he wasn’t chosen for the team, he shifted his focus
to acting and today he is an Academy Award winner and world
famous. Britney Spears wanted to become a lawyer. Imagine
how much poorer the music world would be without her talented
voice!
Robert Frost explains that by taking a road less travelled,
you might end up at the perfect place for you. So, don’t be
disheartened if you are not accepted into your first-choice study
programme. You will automatically be considered for your second
choice – and it might take you to where you need to be!
Please note:
It is not advisable to apply for two selection programmes as
your first and second choice.
Selection programmes are study programmes with early
closing dates and limited space and must preferably be
indicated as first choice on your application form.
The tables below are merely suggestions or recommendations
and must not be seen as compulsory second choices.
Remember that admission to your second choice study
programme does not guarantee later admission to your first
choice of study programme.





Contract
▪ Once you have been provisionally admitted to a
study programme at the University of Pretoria,
you need to accept or decline your provisional
admission on the UP Student Portal.
▪ If you click on ACCEPT, you must then go to
the Online Contract link and complete those
fields.
▪ Print your contract, sign it and hand in your
original copy at the CSC.

R7 500 (for 2016) – payable within 30 days of
placement to reserve your study place.
▪ All other study programmes:
