“Brothers and sisters, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do
everything for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
Do a quick check of your priorities. Where does God rank in that list?
If He’s not first, you have some work to do. Putting God first in
everything helps develop the attitude of “ I am grateful for the gifts
God gave me” instead of “I want more”. For most people gratitude
leads to generosity.
9:30am – 10:30am (Or by appointment)

Deep in our humanness is an ache for fullness that God alone
can satisfy. Developing our relationship with God is so
important and enriching but how does one begin? How can
we grow? St. Francis Xavier Parish is offering a full day
prayer retreat with Dr. Carol Masuga to help us deepen our
relationship with Jesus Christ.” Bishop Ricken has given
permission to Dr. Masuga to offer prayer retreats in our
diocese and has called her "an excellent teacher of prayer and
meditation in the Catholic tradition...she can explain deep
material in a very ordinary way that helps people grow in their
prayer life and in following the way of Jesus." The retreat
begins at 10:00 and culminates with Holy Mass at 4:00. A hot
lunch will also be served. Preregistration at the parish office is
preferred but same day registration is accepted.

Breaking Open the Sunday Readings (Give it a try for Lent!)
Breaking Open the Sunday Readings is very informal. We talk
about the history of the reading, what was going on at that time
and then we bring it forward to our lives, what does it mean to us
today. If you are curious, but not sure this is for you, just test
the water. If it feels good, come again, if not, that is Okay.
There is no prerequisite; you only need to bring your curiosity
and faith. We would love to see you there, all are welcome. If
you have a bible, please bring it along, but it isn’t required. No
need to sign up, just stop in. Lent is a great time to give it a try!
We meet on Wednesdays; the morning sessions are from 6:307:30 a.m. in the Fireplace Room or Narthex, the evening
sessions are from 6 – 7:00 p.m. in the Narthex, Fireplace Room
or Family Room (Whichever is open that night).
For more information, feel free to call Jerry Berg, 327-0515.

Thinking about Separation or Divorce? – Is your marriage or
that of a relative or friend heading for divorce? Do you know
how to save that marriage? Or do you feel helpless? Retrouvaille
is designed to help troubled marriages. It helps spouses uncover
or re-awaken the love, trust and commitment that originally
brought them together. The program is highly successful in
saving hurting marriages, even bringing reconciliation to couples
who have already separated or divorced. For confidential
information about or to register for the upcoming weekend at St.
Norbert Abbey in De Pere March 6-8 call 800-470-2230 or visit

Who is a Steward?
I am! Us too! We are! Include us!
Count me in!
WE ARE ALL STEWARDS!
The call to serve begins with the Sacrament of Baptism.
From that moment on, the Spirit empowers us with unique
gifts to serve our families, church, and communities. As
you discern your ministry here at St. John’s this year,
remember, In whatever way you are feeling called to
serve, it is Jesus calling you to serve Him.
As John 12:26 says:
"Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I
am, there also will my servant be. The Father will
honor whoever serves me.”
The Stewardship tree is back!
An Attitude of Gratitude
With gratitude for all God
has given us, we give thanks.
A steward is thankful for all
God has blessed them with
and gives back to God in
thanksgiving. This weekend,
we
bring
back
the
Stewardship Tree.
The
Stewardship Tree will offer you the opportunity to share your
blessings in a specific way. Suggestions on the tree are ways
for each of us to show an ‘act of stewardship’ in our families,
community and to each other. Make this a family project this
winter! If we each do something small, together we can make a
difference. Please take a tag off the tree and when your "act of
stewardship" is complete just return it and put it back on the
tree for someone else to take.
Stewardship of Service Commitment Forms
LENTEN REGULATIONS
th
1. Catholics who have celebrated their 14 birthday are to abstain
from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent and Good
Friday.
2. In addition to abstaining from meat, Catholics who have
celebrated their 18th birthday, until they celebrate their 59th
birthday, are to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Those
who are bound to this regulation may only eat one full meal. Two
smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength
according to one’s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is
not permitted.
3. These minimal penitential practices should not be lightly
excused.
The Lenten Giving Trees will be put up on February 28/29th.
Parishioners are encouraged to take a paper cross from the trees,
purchase the items listed and return the items to church by the
weekend of March 21/22. Items will range in price from $3 $25.00. If you are purchasing SCRIP, please leave the certificate
with the SCRIP seller. St. John’s is hoping to provide Lenten
baskets to 20 area families plus donations of diapers to the Love
Life Ministry.
Thank you to those who have returned their
Stewardship of Service Commitment forms!
It is not too late to return your Ministry volunteer form! Place
them in the gift bags, collection basket or drop them off or mail
them to the parish office. Thank you for your service to our
wonderful parish. The Service Booklet has many active
ministries that are available and waiting for you!
Blessings,
The Stewardship Committee
Prayer shapes everything we do. The family is the first
community children experience. May prayer encompass all that
your family does. During Lent our children submitted their
prayers as a sign of their stewardship to God. We continue with
their prayers:
Dear God you are good
I thank you for loving us
Bless and protect the whole
And entire world Amen
