Where does God rank in that list? If He’s not first, you have some work to do. Putting God first in everything helps develop the attitude of “ I am grateful for the gifts God gave me” instead of “I want more”. For most people gratitude leads to generosity. 9:30am – 10:30am (Or by appointment) Baptism Baptism Class is held the last Thursday of each month. The retreat begins at 10:00 and culminates with Holy Mass at 4:00. A hot lunch will also be served. Preregistration at the parish office is preferred but same day registration is accepted. May you journey along together on this path to Easter. May your hearts be forever changed. Donation: $1.00 Who is a Steward? I am! Us too! We are! Include us! Count me in! WE ARE ALL STEWARDS! The call to serve begins with the Sacrament of Baptism. From that moment on, the Spirit empowers us with unique gifts to serve our families, church, and communities. As you discern your ministry here at St. John’s this year, remember, In whatever way you are feeling called to serve, it is Jesus calling you to serve Him. As John 12:26 says: "Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me.” The Stewardship tree is back! An Attitude of Gratitude With gratitude for all God has given us, we give thanks. A steward is thankful for all God has blessed them with and gives back to God in thanksgiving. This weekend, we bring back the Stewardship Tree. The Stewardship Tree will offer you the opportunity to share your blessings in a specific way. Suggestions on the tree are ways for each of us to show an ‘act of stewardship’ in our families, community and to each other. Make this a family project this winter! If we each do something small, together we can make a difference. Please take a tag off the tree and when your "act of stewardship" is complete just return it and put it back on the tree for someone else to take. Stewardship of Service Commitment Forms LENTEN REGULATIONS th 1. Catholics who have celebrated their 14 birthday are to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent and Good Friday. 2. In addition to abstaining from meat, Catholics who have celebrated their 18th birthday, until they celebrate their 59th birthday, are to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Those who are bound to this regulation may only eat one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one’s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted. 3. These minimal penitential practices should not be lightly excused. The Lenten Giving Trees will be put up on February 28/29th. Parishioners are encouraged to take a paper cross from the trees, purchase the items listed and return the items to church by the weekend of March 21/22. Items will range in price from $3 $25.00. If you are purchasing SCRIP, please leave the certificate with the SCRIP seller. St. John’s is hoping to provide Lenten baskets to 20 area families plus donations of diapers to the Love Life Ministry. Thank you to those who have returned their Stewardship of Service Commitment forms! It is not too late to return your Ministry volunteer form! Place them in the gift bags, collection basket or drop them off or mail them to the parish office. Thank you for your service to our wonderful parish. The Service Booklet has many active ministries that are available and waiting for you! Blessings, The Stewardship Committee Prayer shapes everything we do. The family is the first community children experience. May prayer encompass all that your family does. During Lent our children submitted their prayers as a sign of their stewardship to God. We continue with their prayers: Dear God you are good I thank you for loving us Bless and protect the whole And entire world Amen February 15, 2015 Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Liturgical Ministries The complete schedule is online at www.sjbh.org/parishcal.html Saturday February 21 4:30pm Sunday February 22 8:00am Sunday February 22 10:00am Eucharistic Minister Brian Mc Kean Debbie Baranczyk Denise Staidl Jim Baranczyk Lois O'Neil Lynn Mc Kean Mike Gorniak Patricia White Bob Buss Carol Gagan Dave Bertrand David Schlegel Ken VanDeYacht Liz Beyers Matt Utech Pat Femling Chris Cohorst Colleen Thompson Erik Aleson Gary Ronsman Gloria D'souza Kathy Yaggie Marc Fry Melanie Muhlenbeck Sally Ronsman Tony Yaggie Lector 1-John O'Neil 2-Kathy Zellner Greeter Denise Staidl Elizabeth Erdmann Eric Erdmann Jackson Komp Usher Chuck Gille - Head Dan Cornell Gary Van Helvoirt Jeff Pamperin Mitch Swanson Sherry Van Helvoirt Jack Weronka Kathy Kimps Sandy Baranczyk Sy Baranczyk Bob Gagan - Head Brent Buchinger Chris Pamperin Joe Kimps Josh Rentmeester Len Rentmeester John Ehlinger Kathy Yaggie Teri Ehlinger Tony Yaggie David Bjorkman Gene Luedke Jacob Meyer Joan Brusky Mary Lou Bartoletti Mike Sidders Peter Mueller - Head Ronald Treml Altar Servers Emerson Moreau Madison Moreau Lector 1-Mary Larson 2-Ann Hammes Altar Servers Anna Grzelak Katelyn Grzelak Lector 1-Honor Jensen 2-Noah Prokash Altar Servers Isabella Weslow Juliette Weslow Musicians Christine & Paul Karen’s Group Josh & Joyful Noise Ss.
