A WORD FROM OUR STAFF
CANTON BAPTIST TEMPLE
FUNERAL NOTES
Funeral services were conducted
for:
David Hartwick, Monday, February 9,
11 am at the Paquelet Funeral Home of
Massillon.
Steve Kubicka, Friday, February 13,
11 am in the Henniger Ministry Center.
Question for the men: What do you struggle with
the most? Could the first part of that answer be that
you struggle with admitting that you struggle (think
about it)? I know most of us guys work very hard at
convincing ourselves that we have everything under
complete control. Even when I search the Scriptures
for godly men, I realize that the most well-known
leaders had their own struggles. You can point to
David and certainly list his battles with the flesh.
Mr. Robert Hagy
Even the Apostle Paul in the latter part of Romans
Director of Operations
chapter 7 asks, “Who shall deliver me from the body
of this death?” or “Who shall deliver me from myself?”
Bottom line, as men we all struggle with our Adamic nature. I believe that
as a church, we must help our men prepare for those personal struggles and
equip them to fight against the wiles of the devil. That is the primary goal of
our Men’s Ministry. Whether it’s fellowshipping with other Christian men at a
trap shoot or studying God’s Word together, we strive to create opportunities
that keep you focused on Christ Who is our perfect example. Remember “iron
sharpeneth iron!”
This coming Saturday, February 21, the Men’s Ministry will host a
“Battleground for Purity” event that I am sure you will enjoy. We will begin
with a pancake and sausage breakfast at 8:00 am and move right into a video
series in the Henniger Ministry Center at 9:00 am. The topic of the session
will focus us on our personal commitment to sexual purity. I must remind you
that just because you attend in no way suggests that you are addicted to some
level of immorality. Instead, it makes a statement (even to our wives) that we
are committed to staying sexually pure in God’s eyes. If you are struggling, the
session will help you develop a defense against temptation. Either way we will
all benefit, single and married alike. Dads, feel free to bring your sons.
We will end the event doing what we do best - lunch. All in all it will be a
great time of fellowship and training for our struggles….remember we all have
them!
Our prayers & sympathy go out to:

FOCUS ON MISSIONS
ALAN & BECKY JACKSON
(Honduras)
The church in Danli continues to grow
and is now starting a new church in
a neighborhood called, Los Robles.
God has provided a property and we
have already begun evangelizing. We
are planning to start a school there
as well, so the church building will
serve two purposes: preaching the
Word of God and teaching children
how to read using the Word of God.
Pray with us for this new ministry. In
addition to the new church, God has
provided 12 acres of beautiful land
for a camp ministry. This property will
also be used for the Bible Institute
that we are starting in February. As of
now, there are four students enrolled.
Please pray with us for God’s Will to
be done in the lives of these young
people.
