Welcome to The Waves’ first
edition of ClubChat for 2015.
I certainly hope you all enjoyed
a well deserved break over the
Christmas and New Year break.
The Waves hits the ground
running this year with some
fantastic new additions,
specifically two new bingo
sessions each Wednesday
added to our already
impressive bingo portfolio
(see page 7 for all bingo
information), as well as an
all new $1,000 Hamper Grab
game show in our gaming
room each Friday. The Hamper
Grab will be the highest value
game show and I look forward
to its launch on February 6
(page 6).
on March 7. Their previous
two shows with The Waves
have been total sell outs and I
expect the same for their third
appearance. Different in this
show, however, is the offer to
buy a sit down, two course
gourmet dinner ticket or a
standing only ticket which will
be a cheaper option for those
not wishing to dine. See page
14 for more information.
Last but not least The Waves
offers up another two months
of terrific entertainment
including the return of our
Morning Shows, the first of
which appears on February
11. In free entertainment,
look forward to new acts in
these coming months like
Wal Neilsen, Garry Carlon and
Rhys Warner (rock & roll and
country), Paris Texas (80’s
rock), Gypsy (modern pop)
and The Paul Terry Trio (R&B)
all listed on pages 8 and 9 in
our entertainment lift out.
Valentine’s Day is the big
spotlight event for this edition
and we look forward to it
being on a Saturday this year.
A special Valentine’s menu is
I look forward to another

GENERAL MANAGER
e
Presents
for Patients:
On December 16, 2014, The Waves’s staff,
many of whom volunteered their time, and
led by Human Resources Manager,
Tanya McCombe and Chief Financial Officer,
Judi McLean-Jones, walked from The Waves
Sports Club to Bundaberg Base Hospital
carrying over 80 presents for unsuspecting
hospital patients, both children and adults.
Seen in the images, patients of the Base
Hospital were surprised to receive their gifts
just a few days before Christmas.
Congratulations to Tanya, Judi and
The Waves staff who set aside their entire
morning for such a fantastic cause.
Staff Member of the Month:
Kelli Rasmussen
Truwyn Walsh
November 2014
December 2014
Kelli has been employed with The Waves Sports Club
for over eight years now and reception is where you’ll
find her, ever-assisting member or guest enquiries but
also assisting all levels of management in an array of
daily tasks.
Truwyn is still relatively new to The Waves, however
he keeps going from strength to strength. His work
ethic and customer service skills, not to mention his
teamwork, has earned him a second staff member of
the month award since commencing in August.
We’re family, welcoming families.
