Benefits to alliance members include preferred interviewing of graduates on-site, dedicated contact throughout the admissions process, and a specialized tuition rate. For more information, contact the admissions office. All students who apply under education alliance will be required to show association upon application. In addition, students may be required to show association with the education alliance partner while attending the college. When proof is required, it will generally be at the beginning of an academic year when reapplying for financial aid. Continued approval will be granted if the student transfers to a different organization that is an education alliance partner along with the proper required proof of association. For additional information, please contact the campus business office or an admissions representative. Update - Page 75 High School Scholarship Program The High School Scholarship program is intended to recognize motivated high school seniors and to encourage their pursuit of advanced career-focused higher education in the field of their choice. There are three high school scholarship/award categories: President’s Scholarship: The award amount includes full tuition, fees and books. There is one President’s Scholarships available at Redstone College. Dean’s Scholarships: The award amount is $5,000 for an associate degree program and $2,500 for a diploma program. There are two scholarships per program available. Preparation for Success Award: An award of $1,000 is offered toward a degree program, or $500 for a diploma program. Scholarship Terms and Conditions • Must be a 2015 high school senior • Must be enrolled in a Redstone College degree or diploma program (certificate programs and employee waivers are not eligible) • Must meet all admissions requirements to Redstone College as outlined in the current college catalog Application Requirements 1. All information requested on the scholarship application must be complete and legible. Students must sign the application, and an email address is required for notification of receipt. Must meet all requirements for the Preparation for Success Award by the scholarship deadline. 2014 Academic Catalog l 1 2. The most current available high school transcript at the time of application must be submitted and must state a students’ current grade point average (GPA). The President’s and Dean’s scholarships require a minimum GPA of 2.0. The Redstone scholarship requires a GPA of 2.5 or the 3. A completed letter of intent, as introduced to the student by his/her admissions representative at the time of application. 4. A 250-word personal essay must be submitted legibly and written in ink or typewritten by the applicant, explaining the reasons for pursuing career-focused higher education in his/her program of choice at Redstone College. Submission Procedure All materials and supplementary documents must be submitted together in one envelope with copies kept by the applicant. Incomplete application packets will not be accepted. The envelope must be received by the scholarship administration on or before the deadline printed on the scholarship application available on redstone.edu. Redstone Scholarship Distribution 1. For a student to be eligible for any of the Redstone scholarship disbursements, he/she must complete at least 60 percent of the term of study with a GPA of 2.5 or higher for each term of disbursement. 2. If a student withdraws after the 60 percent timeframe, he/she will receive a pro-rated amount of the scholarship based on the percentage of tuition charged pursuant to the refund policy outlined in the college catalog. 3. Maximum disbursement is as follows: A. Dean’s scholarship funds will be distributed in equal disbursements per term B. Preparation for Success funds will be distributed in equal disbursements per term. C. President’s Scholarship funds will be distributed equally up to the current tuition and fees charged per academic term Update – Page 77 Housing Scholarship This scholarship will: Be equal to two months’ rent Not exceed $1,100 Be limited to new start students and limited to two students per class start. This is the Interest Rate during the life of the credit transaction, and will apply beginning 91 days after a student leaves school. Interest rates are fixed. 6.1 % Loan Fees Late Charge $15 Returned Check Charge $25 Loan Cost Example The total amount a student will pay for this financing will vary depending upon the number of months the student is in school and the repayment period after the student leaves school. The repayment period will depend on a number of factors, including the amount financed. Students will begin making monthly payments on the first day of the second month after the beginning of the academic term for which financing is provided. There is no period during which payments can be deferred.
