Chief of Police
Summary; This position is responsible for managing
and performing a variety of law enforcement duties
associated with the overall operation of the
Chitimacha Tribal Police Department. It is responsible
for ensuring the safety and security of the
Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana. As required, provides
law enforcement services to surrounding jurisdictions.
Education and/or Experience; Bachelor’s Degree in
Criminal Justice, Public administration, political science,
or closely related degree AND ten (10) years of
relevant law enforcement experience that includes
three (3) to five (5) years of senior level law
enforcement.
Additional Requirements; Must possess, at time of
application, and maintain P.O.S.T certification AND a
State of Louisiana driver’s license throughout the
course of employment; Must obtain CPR certification
and maintenance thereof throughout the course of
employment; Must live within a 35 miles radius of the
Chitimacha Reservation or willing to relocate.
