Sylvester Wallace Named New Benefits Specialist
Sylvester Wallace has been named the new Benefits Specialist in
Florence School District One. He will replace Jerry Nelson who is retiring
this week after 31 years of service in this district.
Wallace received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Coker College and is a 2005 graduate of Wilson High School. Prior to coming to
Florence One, Wallace worked with McKesson Pathology Service Associates; Pearce Administration; and with Blue Cross-Blue Shield as a claims
processor for government accounts.
Wallace describes himself as highly motivated and detailed-oriented.
Like retiring Benefits Specialist Jerry Nelson, Wallace’s overall job goal is to
assure that all Florence One employees are properly enrolled into benefit
programs which include health, dental, life insurance and long-term disability programs. In administering
insurance programs for Florence One, he will coordinate enrollment, communicate information about insurance plans, respond to employee inquiries, and process claims.
“I am pleased to be a part of the Florence School District One family, and I look forward to working
with everyone here,” said Wallace.
He and his wife Autrella are the parents of three daughters—Treazure, 11; Skylar, 4; and Payton,
3. To reach Sylvester Wallace during office hours, call 843-673-1151 or e-mail: [email protected].
