MATRO for MEN ™ FASHION DESIGN $500 SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST Are you a fashion student looking to gain real world experience and make some cash at the same time? Then enter our MATRO for MEN ™ Fashion Design Scholarship contest. All students currently enrolled in a fashion course are eligible. If we select to produce your designs, you will be awarded a $500 scholarship for education related expenses. Entry deadline is March 1, 2015. SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST GUIDELINES 1) We are looking for higher end “after 6” men’s garments that flatter athletically built men. The look should combine the elegance of the 1920’s and 1940’s with updated colors, styling and fit. Design two or more men’s shirts from the following categories: Dress Shirt · Polo · V-Neck · Crewneck Creatively incorporate the MATRO ™ l ogo somewhere on the shirt or as an integral part of the shirt’s design. Design a pair of trousers. Including a blazer or tie design is optional and may increase your odds of winning. 2) Combine the pieces into complete looks and sketch on croquis. 3) Then sketch each garment separately and include the following information for each piece: • Fiber content (ex: polyester, cotton, rayon, etc.) • Fabric construction method (ex: woven, knit) • Fabric pattern, if any (ex: houndstooth, stripe, color blocking) • Any additional significant information about the design 4) Create .pdf files of your sketches and email to [email protected] . In your email, include your name, your school name, and the year you will likely graduate. * Entries become the property of Matro ™ Fashions, LLC.
