Inaugural Buy Local Spring Marketplace
The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple invites you to our Inaugural
Spring “Buy Local” Marketplace to be held on
Sunday, March 22 -11:00am – 4:00pm.
All Vendors must be LOCAL Businesses, Crafters or Artists. We will not accept any
Commercial Food Vendors or Direct Sales for this event.
NO refund will be made on the vendor fee after March 1, 2015.
FEE: $75 – plus products worth at least $25 for our basket raffle. All products MUST be
delivered to the Scranton Cultural Center no later than March 1, 2015 or an additional
$25 will be added to the vendor fee. If a vendor chooses not to donate anything for the
basket raffle the table fee is $100.
Booth Specifications: $75.00 Vendor Fee will include an 8 foot table and two chairs
and PR on our website, Facebook page, TV, radio, print etc. FREE coffee and donuts will
be provided to vendors between the hours of 8:00 – 9:00am on our Second Floor.
Additional table space is available at $60 per extra space.
Setup time: Sunday March 22, 2015 – Begins 7:00am – All vendors MUST load
in and be completely set up by 10:00am
Please read the following before signing your application.
Marketplace Information & General Policies:
1.
Vendors will be separated as best as possible based on type of items offered to
sell. Acceptance to the marketplace does not grant or imply to any vendor
exclusivity on items sold.
2.
All Vendors must submit photographs, links to web site or Facebook page etc.
and a detailed description of items to be reviewed before acceptance into the
event.
3.
Only applications from local businesses, artists or crafters will be accepted.
4.
Vendor fees are NOT to accompany the application. Vendors will be notified if
they are accepted and directed at that time to send payment. Once approved, all
payments will be deposited upon receipt. Only paid in full applications will
guarantee your spot. Vendors that send in payment BEFORE approval are NOT to
be considered accepted unless approval is sent. Any Vendor sending in payment

5.
All vendors must occupy the space provided and specified by the SCC and the
Director of the “BUY LOCAL” event. There is no booth/table sharing allowed without
expressed permission in advance.
6.
Vendors will be provided with one (1) 8 foot folding table and two (2) chairs. We
have limited electricity available to table spaces and it will be assigned on a first
come first requested basis. We will NOT provide table lights, extension cords or
table coverings/linens.
7.
Confirmation of your space will be sent to you prior to the marketplace via email. All correspondences will be via e-mail. Table and floor location to be provided
after all applications are received, reviewed and confirmed.
8.
Vendors may NOT display or sell any items not approved and detailed in their
application. If other items are displayed for sale the day of the event you will be
required to remove them and maybe asked to leave the event. NO REFUND will be
made to you if you break the rules of the event and are asked to leave or
prohibited from selling non approved items.
9.
Vendors will not be permitted to set-up prior to Sunday morning at 7:00am
unless scheduled otherwise by the SCC Director.
10.
Vendors MUST confine themselves to the space provided. No Vendors will be
permitted to extend their space into an aisle or into another Vendors space.
11.
Vendors may bring their own table if desired as long as it fits in the space
provided. Vendors must communicate in advance to event Director that a Vendor
will be bringing their own table or display unit.
12.
Vendors may not have displays that will obstruct the view of Vendors on either
side of them.
13.
Any Vendor that brings more product that can fit in the space provided will be
asked to remove the excess products. Refusal to do so will result in removal from
the event.
14.
The SCC does not provide change nor will staff have any monies on their person
for Vendors for change. Please be prepared with the change and monies you need
to operate for the day. The SCC now has an ATM machine in the Lower Level.
15.
WIFI is available in the building BUT there are maybe spots in the building that
do not have reliable service. The WiFi Password will be given to all Vendors at the
time they are accepted into the show.
16.
No parking will be permitted on the sidewalk at the Cultural Center. Specific
information on parking will be sent with your confirmation.
17.
This is a snow/rain or shine event and no refunds will be given due to inclement
weather.
18.
Vendors assume responsibility for any items left on the Cultural Center site after
the conclusion of the event.
19.
Applications will be accepted until all spaces have been filled.
20.
All Vendors are expected to be open the entire hours of the Marketplace and
have adequate product inventory to sell. Tables must be set up by 10:00am on
Sunday March 22, 2015 and remain up until 4:00pm that same day. It is
understood that the vendors shall not remove a table prior to closing of this event.
Non-compliance will force us to exclude the offending vendor from future events.
21.
No animals, except service animals, will be allowed in the marketplace area.
22.
The following items are prohibited for sale at this event - Prohibited items
include animals, weapons, explicit sexual material, personal services, illegal CDs,
DVDs, and other unauthorized “knock offs.”
23.
Vendor agrees to provide a professional looking display not to exceed the space
provided. Tables and chairs (if applicable) will be provided by the SCC Marketplace.
You may bring your own custom table coverings and display stands etc. if you have
them. There cannot be anything taped, attached or hung in any fashion, from the
walls, doors or balconies of the Scranton Cultural Center.
24.
We ask for professionalism, courtesy and respect, when speaking to ANY
member of the Scranton Cultural Center BUY LOCAL staff, other vendors and the
general public.
25.
Vendors must maintain their spaces in a clean condition and remove all waste
before leaving the Marketplace. Garbage cans will be provided.

We, the lessee and its employees, hereby covenant and agree with the Scranton Cultural
Center at the Masonic Temple and the Spring Buy Local Marketplace staff, its successors,
and assigns, to be responsible for and to indemnify and save harmless the said Scranton
Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple and the Spring Buy Local Marketplace committee both
as a committee and individual members, and all municipalities in which the Scranton Cultural
Center at the Masonic Temple and the Spring Buy Local Marketplace committee exists,
against any and all expenses, causes of action, and claims of any kind including all liability
claims by reason of any and all accidents, injuries, damages or sickness that may occur during
operation of this agreement and all fines, penalties, and loss incurred for any reason for the
violation of any city, state, county or federal law, ordinance, regulation or rule. NOTE: NO
ITEMS THAT ARE IMMORAL, ILLEGAL OR DANGEROUS WILL BE ALLOWED. IF THE SCC
FEELS ANY ARTICLES ARE QUESTIONABLE, REMOVAL WILL BE REQUESTED. IF A VENDOR
MAY NOT BRING FOR DISPLAY OR SALE ITEMS THAT HAD NOT BEEN PREAPPROVED. NONCOMPLIANCE WILL CAUSE THE VENDOR TO BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

Vendor Fee includes, One 8-foot table & two chairs, PR and marketing of the event by the Scranton Cultural
Center at the Masonic Temple.
ALL VENDORS, AFTER APPROVAL, ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED UPON COMPLETED CONTRACT RETURN and
PAID RESERVATION. A waiting list will be complied and Vendors will be contacted if spaces open up.
ALL FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED AND PAID FOR BY MARCH 1, 2015.
