Hello and welcome to my online portfolio. I am a Graphic Designer based in Wokingham, Berkshire. I am currently working as a Graphic Designer for Microsoft UK. Taking design briefs to deliver well-crafted final products which adhere to corporate brand guidelines for digital, print and social media. I enjoy traveling, art, photography and exhibitions and in my spare time I enjoy photography and painting. I hope you enjoy looking through my portfolio. Botanic Gardens, Dublin Social Media A selecion of images created for SurfaceGB’s Social Media. The brief would vary from generic product shots aimed at the creative audience due to the Adobe partnership with Surface Pro 3 to product shots to showcase award wins for the device to particular offers/ seasonal trends and for real time purposes. Types of engagement would range from 30 to 1.2k likes on Facebook depending on whether it’s paid or organic. Twitter engagement would range from 1 to 15 favourites and 1 to 10 retweets. Social Media A selecion of images created for WindowPhoneUK’s Social Media. This account has now been migrated to MicrosoftLumia. The briefs would range from a new device, app, quote, seasonal promotion, help infomation or events. Types of engagement would range from 30 to 2.4k likes on Facebook depending on whether it’s paid or organic. Twitter engagement would range from 1 to 45 favourites and 1 to 20 retweets. I also design for all MS social channels. Social media skins Here are a selection of social skins for Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, The skins would be updated seasonally, for a certain message or promotion. Real-time Social banners designed real-time to impact certain live activities. Here are a selection of realtime social banners to reflect the London tube strikes, Friday, new MS CEO announcement and a Twitter quote. Copy was provided to me by a Microsoft Social Community Manager where I then reflected it within the image. The photography was sourced on MS Brand Tools. These types of banners would have a turn around of roughly 30-60min. Web banners A selecion of web banners used on MS sites and demand gen banners. The brief included an AB testing on two types of messaging and 4 types of photography. Dimensions required were for: - Leaderboard 728 x 90px - Skyscraper 120 x 600px - Medium rectangle 350 x 250px - Website 234 x 60px N.B. these web banners have been resized to fit within this portfolio. Website design A selecion of website design mock ups for a Microsoft event, Future Decoded 2015. With the sucess of Future Decoded 2014, MS have decided to launch Future Decoded in 2015. I was asked to design a mock up of what the website could look like. Here are 2 designs with a lightbox feature. Features include: - Top header carousel of last - year highlights - Reg interest button at top - Lightbox feature - Fade outs - Hover over buttons Future Decoded Event This unique event brought together some of the world’s most influential thinkers to explore the political, social and economic changes that will shape business in the 21st century. The day featured an intimate, interactive conversation with our CEO, Satya Nadella. Speaking in the UK for the first time as CEO of Microsoft, he outlined how Microsoft is creating the next generation of technology innovation. I was at the event for 3 days working behind the scenes on real time graphics to push out on social, such as speaker quote images and infographics. Print: Signage A selecion of print signage that I helped design for Future Decoded, a MS event. These were designed using Adobe Illustrator at a quater of the actual size due to large graphic size. The high quality PDF artwork was then sent to the printers. Previous work Earlex Limited was established in 1987 and launched the world’s first DIY steam wallpaper stripper. Today, still dedicated to UK manufacture, Earlex export a wide range of power decorating tools and power cleaning products across the globe and sold within major retail chains. Responsible for the design of all web banners for www.earlex.co.uk along with Facebook banners for social media. Previous work Create by Earlex is a paint sprayer branded by Earlex aimed at the arts and craft industry. Launched early 2013. Manufactured in the UK. This fun little paint sprayer comes with 5 free stencils and a range of stencil designs are available separately. Brief involved designing a brand and identity for Create by Earlex, such as logo design and brand guidelines. Image to the right: Create by Earlex final logo design. Previous work This brochure is for Create by Earlex. The design has a DIY, arts and craft feel to it such as layering textures; showing this in a brochure format involved layering textured graphics and photography. Each page is different to the other to create a hand made DIY scrap book feel, not only with imagery but even down to typography, using a handwritten font to highlight key words and creating an interesting graphic to highlight the tagline on the front page the styling relates the target audience for the product. Previous work Packing designed for Create by Earlex. Again, the design for the packaging for this product as a DIY, arts and craft feel to it to tie in with the target audience. Features include, photography within photo frames and polaroid photos, pins and creative icons. Previous work I designed two packs of 10 themed stencils for a Generic and Celebration pack for Create by Earlex, a new paint sprayer designed specifically for the arts and craft market This involved: - Market research: Craft magazines, high street stores, competitor websites and blogs (Wonderful Walls, Cutting Edge Stencils, Pinterest) to pick out current and popular trends - Competitor analysis - Collection of imagery to form mood boards to help with designs, FK Graphics Fabia Karim 07834547513 www.fabia-karim.co.uk [email protected]
