Visiting Speakers at Gleniti Baptist
You are welcome to come along to join us 10 minutes after the service over in the manse
for great coffee and food, and most importantly great fellowship. If you are visiting us
today then please come and have it on us! There is also free tea and coffee available in the
Church Foyer area after the service.
Margaret & David (along with their two sons) have been living and teaching English in
Myanmar (previously called Burma) for about eight years. On Sunday 8 March they will be
sharing something of their story at the Gleniti Baptist Church service at 10am. After the
service at 12.30pm there will be a shared lunch in the church café with them. From 1.30pm
– 2.30pm they will speak again in more detail. All are welcome to attend these events or
just some of them. Please bring food to share for the lunch. For further information please

John & Pauline England
On Sunday morning March 8, John & Pauline England will be speaking in our service. Years
ago this couple courageously set out for Europe, in faith, believing that the Lord would lead
and provide. He did. There are now several churches planted, and a developing ministry in
Romania serving the poor, called Horizon of Hope. They have quite a story to tell.

Tina Duncan says: A huge thank you to all those who have contributed generously in order
for us to buy an awesome climbing frame (which has now arrived but still needs assembly)
for the children. We have raised all the money required for the equipment and almost
covered the delivery costs. If you would like to make a contribution please see Tina Duncan,
Viv Laursen, or John McMullan. Any donations can be put in a marked envelope and placed
in the offering bag or banked direct to our account with “Play Equipment” in the reference
field.
Hall Rebuild - Volunteers Wanted! No experience required!
We need to carry on and get the hall completed. There are plenty of jobs to be done so we
will find work for anyone willing Every Saturday there will be work wet or fine, also there
will be some work done during the week and in the evenings depending on who is
available.
To maximise our efforts in construction of office area etc, we will close the hall toilets so
time is not wasted each week getting the area tidied for use on Sundays.
Everyone is busy but it is important that we get this project finished so the facilities can be
used as intended and all Ministries can benefit from it.

A team of people have been busy cutting and splitting firewood which is now available for
sale as a fundraiser for the hall. We have a large quantity of recently felled Oregon, and a
smaller quantity of pine and willow available at the following prices:

Family Works South Canterbury is bringing the above presentation by Nathan MikaereWallis from the Brainwave Trust on Wednesday 18 March 2015 from 7pm - 9pm at the

Nathan gives a straight forward and easy to follow explanation, with practical, grounded
advice on how to navigate your way through the turbulent, teenage years.

Pastor John Writes . . .
Adventures are best in relationship with other people. Solo Adventures aren't that much
fun. Adventures are about risk, excitement, fun, extending one's skills and confidence. So
much of what we enjoy today came about because someone, somewhere was
adventurous.
Some of my most rewarding adventures have either been with my family or a group of
people. I've been caving, crossed major rivers on foot, abseiled, climbed mountains,
travelled to challenging parts of the world, all with other people. It would not have been
the same on my own.
Let's not isolate ourselves, but build relationships so that we can enjoy the adventure the
Lord wants to take us on. The Lord can do some amazing things through us together in
this community - like hospitality, prayer for healing, helping the needy, telling people
about Jesus, children's ministry, and more.
Let’s not be risk averse. Together let's discover that adventure mode with the Holy
Spirit's direction is far more rewarding than the comfort of the couch.
I've been impressed this last week, with the way an excellent team of men (and one
woman) have all worked well together in the adventures of cutting and splitting 200
cubic metres of firewood in the church carpark. Impressive effort. Thank you.

Tina McEwing would like to thank those who have prayed for her, and supported her
with txt messages, visits and meals over the past month when she was sick. "The clots in
my lungs are resolving (praise God!) but the clots in my legs are still present but should
resolve over time as well. I'm still a little slow on my feet and still get short of breath,
but I will get there. I couldn't have done it without all your prayer and support, so thanks
heaps".

On February 27th, at 2:00pm, at 6 Hunt Street, a young couple will be sharing about their
ministry and some of the challenges they face while working in a hot spot in the Central
Asia. Hearing them first hand will give a greater understanding of what many Christian
