and LITTLE MISS BUFORD PAGEANTS

All contestants must check in at the Registration Desk at least 15 minutes prior to but
no earlier than 45 minutes prior to your age division competition start time of:

AGE DIVISIONS and DRESS
Contestants will compete in the above divisions according to their age as of the date of the pageant. *Teen (15 and
up) division only (Miss Sweetheart and Miss Buford contestants) may be asked an onstage question derived from
what is listed under activities/interests/awards on the registration form. Ages 6 and under should wear any type
pageant or Sunday dress. Ages 7 and up should wear a long or floor length dress.
AWARDS (All pageant contestants will receive a trophy)
A queen will be crowned in each of the above age divisions for the MISS SWEETHEART AND MISS BUFORD
titles. The MISS SWEETHEART OF GEORGIA queens in each age division will receive a trophy, crown,
embroidered sash, and gift. The first and second runners-up will receive a trophy. The MISS BUFORD queens in
each age division will receive a trophy, crown, embroidered sash, and gift. The first runner-up will receive a trophy.
Reigning divisional “MISS BUFORD’S” may compete for “MISS SWEETHEART OF GA” portions only. Judges
reserve the right to split the titles in the event of a tie. Miss Sweetheart of Georgia titleholders and Buford
Queens are invited to ride in the Buford Homecoming Parade next Fall and make other fun appearances during
their reign.
PAGEANT FEES/ELIGIBILTY
MISS SWEETHEART OF GA: $40 entry fee. Open to anyone who is a resident of Georgia.
LITTLE MISS BUFORD: $20 entry fee if also entering Miss Sweetheart portion, or $40 entry fee if competing
for a Miss Buford title only. Only contestants that live full-time at a Buford mailing address or attend a Buford
City School are eligible for the Buford titles.
(Pageant fees are not refundable after January 31st)
OPTIONAL COMPETITIONS and PAGEANT WORKSHOP/REHEARSAL
PHOTOGENIC (optional): $5 per photo entered: 8X10 or smaller; Color or B/W; no frames; no name on the back.
One winner per age division will receive a plaque. You may bring the photo(s) to registration or mail w/entry form.
Pick up your photo and your score sheets after your age division competition near the Registration table.
PRETTIEST SMILE / PRETTIEST HAIR / BEST DRESSED (optional): $15 competes for all three titles. Wraparound Banners will be awarded in each age division for all three titles.
PAGEANT WORKSHOP/REHEARSAL (optional - NOT REQUIRED): The fee is $20. A training workshop &
rehearsal will be Tuesday, February 17th at 6:30 p.m. at the Buford Fine Arts Center. We will offer helpful tips and
guidance for age appropriate hair and make-up, answer questions, etc. The contestants will be shown how to do the
“walk” and they will practice on the actual stage. It is advised they bring their pageant shoes to rehearse their
walk.
BE A BEST WISHES QUEEN or SUPREME QUEEN!
Sell PROGRAM ADS for the Pageant Program Book to pay entry fees and earn the title of “Best Wishes Queen” as
follows:
$100 in Ads earns free entry to ALL COMPETITION EVENTS (including optional competitions but does NOT
include Workshop/Rehearsal) and a Tiara.

$150+ in Ads earns free entry to ALL EVENTS (including optional competitions and Workshop/Rehearsal) plus
a 3’ Trophy and a Tiara.
*** Sell the most Program Ads over $250 and be crowned the SUPREME QUEEN and receive ALL events free, a 5’
trophy, a large Tiara, and a custom embroidered sash!


ADDITIONAL DAY OF EVENT INFORMATION
DOOR ADMISSION: The contestant and one parent will be admitted free. This is a Band fundraiser and the door
fees will be: $2 per child 12 and under, and Senior Citizens; and $5 per adult and teen.
DIRECTIONS: I-85N; Exit left at split onto I-985N to Exit 4, LEFT (West) on GA HWY 20; RIGHT at 4th Light
onto GA HWY 23 (Buford Hwy); Turn LEFT at 5th Light onto Robert Bell Pkwy. Buford Fine Arts Center will be on
the left, next to Buford Academy, and across the street from the Buford Middle School. Buford Academy/Fine

PICTURES: A professional photography studio will be available on the day of the pageant. The studio will take
pictures of all of the queens from each division, as well as a group shot of the queens for press releases. They will
also offer individual packages to anyone who is interested.

his/her guests will conduct themselves in good sportsmanlike conduct and that I will not hold Buford Band, it’s Association, the pageant staff,
