Challenge
TechTop Contest
TechTop 2015 is the 10 th
Annual National Innovation
Challenge for engineering
students, meant to identify,
promote and celebrate
outstanding engineering
talents with Innovative
ideas that can be
demonstrated and
commercialized
TechTop seeks to create a platform for
innovators to present their ideas for products
that can make a positive impact on public life.
The economy of a nation is built primarily by
innovators and entrepreneurs through the creation
of new products, services and businesses. However,
we often forget to celebrate these prime-movers of
wealth and job creation in our community.
The idea of having a competition to celebrate the
latent innovation talents of engineering students
was conceived in the year 2005. It was designed as
an event to show innovations from engineering
students to the community and inspire the next
generation of engineers.

TechTop 2015 Workshop
Research done at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT) showed that innovators and entrepreneurs could
be created through a special experiential training
curriculum developed there. In this program students go
through an experiential learning of innovation and
entrepreneurship process developed at MIT. Students
stay on campus for a week along with mentors from India
and MIT. They will learn how to identify worthwhile
problems to solve, ideate new strategies for solutions,
fabricate new products, develop business strategies to
commercialize their idea and start companies.
The objective of this workshop is for the
student to learn the process of:
Identification of Problems and Evaluation as Opportunities
Ideation of Solutions
Fabrication of Proof of Concept
Developing Business Strategy
Pitching Your Ideas to Decision Makers
