the road to the olympics begins in Marin
The Sustainable Sports Foundation,
based here in Marin County, provides
all of the funding which gives children
from low-income families in our
community the opportunity to learn
to swim and be safe in the water.
This wonderful year-round program
takes place at the Mill Valley
Community Center and is making a
huge impact on many young lives,
not only teaching them an important
life skill, but also helping to build self
esteem and confidence.
The founders and directors of
Sustainable Sports Foundation have
been United Market shoppers for over
twenty years each and have learned
that helping to build community,
simply starts at home.
When they had an idea to put on the
very first Marin County Triathlon and
the Marin County Half Marathon, it
was conceived on the trails above
Fairfax and brought to fruition over
many wonderful lunches and dinners,
directly sourced from United Markets.
Our recent swim graduates at the Mill Valley Community Center.

doodles and works of art from many celebrities in the world of music, entertainment and sports.
