Essel Propack was founded in 1984 and since
inception; it has been on a value added growth track.
Essel Propack has sustained its position as a global
market leader in laminated tubes with Production sites
in India, China, US, UK, Germany, Poland, Russia,
Egypt, Philippines, Colombia and Mexico. The global
presence continues to expand.
We manufacture tubes for Oral care, Cosmetics,
Pharma, Food and Industrial products. The mainstay
of the sustained growth has been a continuous
Innovation over last 25 years to develop new tube
structures which complement the changing need of

Laminate
Laminate is the core material of the tube. It forms the
complete tube body. We can offer you different
options from 200µ to 400µ with different barrier
properties. The laminate can be made of 3 up to 5
layers.
Our standard laminates are composite materials made
from LLDPE and contain a barrier layer. Due to the
multi-layer structure of the foils with the barrier layer in
between your product will be protected in the best
possible way, even if it is an aggressive product like
depilatory cream or a damageable or sensitive
product like mayonnaise or silicones.
The barrier prevents the diffusion of molecular
structures. Thus the contents of the tube are
protected from oxygen and other elements. On the
other hand, solvents or aromatic substances are
prevented from escaping uncontrolled out of the tube.
For sensitive or aggressive products high barrier
properties should be chosen.
Besides the common barriers we also offer special
solutions, like laminate without any barrier layer or the
use of a PET barrier. In addition to white and
transparent laminates we use foils with silver high
gloss finish.

Shoulder
As a special production feature we manufacture our
shoulders in line. We use transparent granules and a
colour master batch to form a big variety of different
shoulder shapes with our own tools, i.e. we are
independent of the delivery of certain parts, since the
same base material is used for all shoulders. We can
produce custom colours for all shoulders.
Besides the combination of different diameters and
threads we are also able to make openings of most
different shapes, like round openings and various
other shapes. In addition, we can also offer a shoulder
form with nozzle for certain diameters to allow precise
application of the filling good.
IBL Shoulder Barrier
Different to the body, the ordinary tube shoulder has
no additional barrier. However, we offer you the
possibility of having an extra shoulder insert with
barrier properties, the so-called IBL. This is a rondelle
which is placed inside the tube on top of the HDPE
shoulder and which consists of a combination of PE
layers with a barrier layer inserted in between. The
usual barrier is EVOH, but it can also be made of
aluminium, if required.
Oval shoulders
Essel Propack gives Oval tubes. This is made possible
with inline compression molding of the shoulder in
tube making. The oval shoulder tooling are available
for 30mm and 40 mm diameter for Plastic Co-ex tubes
and 22 mm , 30 mm and 38 mm diameter in
Laminated tubes. Presently the oval tubes are used in
Cosmetics and Personal Care Products
Striping Insert
The striping insert is placed on the shoulder inside the
tube. This insert is used mainly for oral care tubes,
e.g. two coloured toothpaste. It is a small pipe which
has a larger opening in the middle and five smaller side
openings. The white paste is pushed out through the
central opening while the coloured stripes are laid on
the white toothpaste through the small side openings.
Dual Tubes
Essel Propack has come out with the innovative tube
packaging that has a cleverly designed two-chamber
system and tube head. These features ensure that the
two components do not come into contact with each
other prior to being squeezed out of the tube and that
they are dispensed in the ratio of 1: 1. The product is
thus applied in stripes. The divider is made up of either
Polyethylene layer or aluminums barrier layer in the
laminate or the plastic barrier Layer in the laminate that
keeps the two components reliably separate in the
tube and effectively prevents the penetration of light,
oxygen or hydrogen.
Different shape Shoulders
Essel Propack can offer different shape shoulder like
Round , Lipstick applicator type. This shape shoulders
are specifically designed for Personal care products
like Lip Balm , Lipstick etc applications . Presently
the tooling are available in 19mm , 22mm, 38 mm
tubes.

Caps
The cap is an important component of the tube and
can increase the value of the complete pack both
visually and functionally. We are in a position to make
use of all conceivable forms of caps, including standup and screw caps, flips tops as well nozzles and
sponge applicators.
There are almost no limits for cap colours. Caps can
be delivered in any conceivable pantone colour, also
with iriodine shape. The caps can be opaque or semi-
transparent with different graduations. Of course the
colours can also be adjusted to product series already
existing.
In addition the aspect of the cap can be improved by
metallization, varnishing, foil blocking with most
different foils or printing, e.g. with your logo.
A top seal as first use protection is available for almost
all threads shoulder and can thus be placed on the
tube practically under any screwed cap or top.

Packaging
Our standard developed over many years is based on
flexibility, efficiency and cost optimization. We choose
the packing for your tubes which is adapted to your
requirements in the best possible way.
Usually, we deliver all tubes on Euro and Universal
pallets. Their Standard dimensions are 120 x 80 cm
and 100 x 80 cm resp.
To make optimum use of the height of the truck or
standard sea freight containers, we have designed our
warehouse for a pallet height of 2 m. Thus we achieve
the highest possible amount of tubes on a pallet and
best possible utilization of the freight capacity. We can
also adapt pallets to special requirements of our
customers.
Our standard cartons are made of recycled
corrugated cardboard. The tubes are packed with the
cap down. The rear opening of the tubes is covered
with a PE film for dust protection. Using uniform
cartons for many formats we have optimized the costs
by higher purchase volumes and less storekeeping.
If required, we can provide you with individual cartons
with special inserts, e.g. different corrugated inserts.
Of course, we are also prepared to use a custom
packing scheme provided by you.

Printing & Graphics
Our Internal facilities offer you high-quality printing up
to 6 colours plus varnishing in gloss and matt quality.
In our internal process we use the letterpress
technology.
Our in-house graphic department guarantees flexible
and quick handling and gives you competent
guidance for the realization of your products. This
includes analysis of your first designs, consultation for
an optimal implementation of your design, up to final
printing and of course on-site service at the approval
of the printing.
We work with help of different software’s e.g. Adobe
Acrobat 6 , Photoshop CS5 , Illustrator CS5 ,
CorelDrawX3 . Besides this we use workflow for
processing and outputting the design files on ESKO
Imagesetter. ESKO workflow helps us to optimize our
productivity with ease and quality. ESKO is a well
known application as well as machinery provider to
packaging industry
Besides standard lacquering (glossy or matt), it is also
possible to apply different coats of lacquer on an
image or special effect varnishes.
DIGITAL LAMINATE PRINTING
With the increasing demands for smaller volumes, We
now have our new technology of Digital Printing
directly on the laminate at our state of the art Digital
Laminate Printing Studio. With this technology , No
conventional printing plates are required and few
machine setups are needed. Different varnishing and
foil blocking are available in this process as well.
This technology caters to various customer

Creativity & Innovation
The Company is having dedicated Creativity and
Innovation(C&I) department set up in 1998. Highly
Educated Scientists and Technologist are working in
C&I department. Work of C&I department in EP goes
far beyond creating new products or discovering new
business categories, It stretches to identify new raw
materials, Improvising existing Product designs,
enhancing existing capabilities and discovering new
technology. Decade of sincere work by the C&I team,
made the Company popular and earned the respect of
being the most “Innovative specialty packaging Co.” in
the world.
The Creativity and innovation Department has State of
the Art Laboratory at vasind near Mumbai. The C&I
laboratory has latest Testing facilities covering,
Analytical Lab, Barrier Lab, and Sensory Lab.
Essel Propack follows a very rigorous process of “Five
stage Validation process” to introduce any Raw
material, machinery and process. Validation process
looks very rigorous but at the end all the qualified
product, process and machinery are included in to co.
SRD (Std. reference Data) list and readily accepted in
to production all EP plant across the Globe.
New Initiatives:
Anticounterfeit features: To combat counterfeits EP
has developed laminated tube with security features
such as embedded holography and embedded microtext. EP's Anticounterfeit tube design has been well
accepted in many global brands and yielded huge
export order.
Minitubes: Oral care and personal care product
manufacturers have been offering small packaging of
these products in sachets which creates a
psychological barrier in switching to large tube format.
The mini tubes produced by Essel Propack give the
opportunity to replace sachet, facilitating an easier
transition to large format of tubes.
Inviseam tubes: New tubing technology that form the
side seam in such a manner that the same is almost
“Invisible”. Invisibility of the seam enhances the
decoration possibilities in laminated tubes.
Sustainable tube: Creativity and Innovation team
have been working on the 'Sustainable tube design'
for quite some time now. Outcome of the extensive
research work enable EP to come out with PCR (post
consumer regrind) tubes, PIR (post industrial regrind)
tubes and fully bio-degradable tubes. Essel Propack
has developed capability of manufacturing of Plastic
Tubes with significant amount of PCR content (Brand
called “ETAIN”), without impacting the look, feel and
efficacy of the tubes.
Egnite Tube: High Luster laminated tubes with
superior barrier and fascinating colors. These tubes
have been designed mainly for high-end cosmetics
and toiletries.
High Clarity Tubes with UV cut: Essel Propack is
offering high clarity Plastic and Laminated tubes with
full spectrum of UV A, B &C cut. Because of the UV
inhibitor, these tubes protect the filled product from
UV degradation. These tubes are getting popular for
hair gel, face wash gets dentifrice application
