NEW SCHOLARSHIP INFO – RECENT ARRIVALS!
(1) Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa Scholarships … Three (3) scholarships valued at $1,000 each … The
purpose of these scholarships is to assist students with learning disabilities in pursuing a post-secondary education
at an accredited institution providing (a) a 2-year or 4-year program or (b) vocational training … Seniors with
learning disabilities as verified by an IEP [Individual Education Plan] are eligible … NOTE: Students served
solely under Section 504 or with primary disabilities other than learning disabilities (e.g., Autism) ARE NOT
ELIGIBLE … Application Deadline: March 31, 2015
(2) Bright Scholars of Iowa Scholarship Program … Full-ride scholarships to Iowa’s three Regent universities
(University of Iowa, Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa) as well as Des Moines Area
Community College and Indian Hills Community College to students meeting specific criteria … Full-ride means
that students’ tuition, room and board, and books are fully paid for – for up to 4 years … 30 scholarships to eligible
students to attend one of the three state universities and as well as 22 scholarships to students to attend with

… Application Deadline: March 1, 2015 [This deadline applies to applications for admission and applications for
Financial Aid (FAFSA) for students who will attend one of the three state universities AND April 24, 2015 for

(3) Acacia Leadership Scholarships for male, graduating seniors who plan to attend the University of Iowa … Up to
six (6) scholarships can be awarded with values ranging between $500 and $2,000 [NOTE: Financial need is not a
criterion] … This scholarship is designed to reward outstanding male high school seniors who have excelled in
academics, extra-curricular school activities and community involvement … Application Deadline: Applications
must be postmarked no later than April 30, 2015
(4) Beta Sigma Phi Lutheran Fraternity Scholarships at Iowa State University … Three (3) $1,500 scholarships to
incoming Christian men … Selection criteria include (a) involvement in church activities, (b) academic
achievement, (c) involvement in and recognition for extra-curricular activities and (4) personal interview … This
scholarship has three (3) Application Deadlines: (1) February 21, 2015 to be eligible for all three, (2) April 25,
2015 to be eligible for the remaining two and (3) July 1, 2015 to be eligible for third scholarship only
(5) 2015 Iowa Golf Association Foundation Ann Griffel Scholarship … The IGAF awards $2,000 to Iowa high
school senior girls who have a passion for golf and intend to further their education at an Iowa institution of higher
learning, whether a college, university or trade school … Scholarships are awarded on the basis of (1) academic
performance, (2) extracurricular activities and (3) leadership qualities AND NOT ON GOLF

(6) 2015 Iowa Golf Association Foundation Herman Sani Scholarship … $2,000 per year ($8,000 over a 4 year
consecutive period) … Any graduating high school senior with experience or background in golf is eligible to
apply … Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance, extra-curricular activities and leadership

(1) Beane/Squires Scholarship … This scholarship will pay $12,000 ($3,000 per year) for 4 years of study leading to a
bachelor’s degree … This scholarship is available to a young person who is (1) a graduating senior who lives in the
Green Mountain-Garwin area, or any other applicant the scholarship committee may choose (2) involved in a broad
range of extracurricular school activities with a preference for the fine arts (3) involved in the community through
various organizations and activities (4) currently active in some church and committed to being active in a church
while in college and beyond and (5) consciously choosing a life that reflects Christ-like principles … Applications
are to be filled out and returned by April 1, 2015 to Daniel and Sarah Squires Beane … Selected candidates will be
interviewed on Sunday afternoon and evening, April 12, 2015 at the home of Dan and Sarah Beane
(2) Robert & JoAnn Jensen Scholarships …. Two scholarships that will pay up to $12,000 ($3,000 per year) to two

semester of his/her senior year (2) plan to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the
State of Iowa (3) be able to show financial need and (4) demonstrate good character and good citizenship at all

(3) Marshall County Izaak Walton League Scholarship … A $1,000 college scholarship for a deserving student who
is working toward a degree in a field related to Conservation or Environmental Studies … Applicants must be

(4) Consumers Energy Lineworker/Power Line Scholarship … A $1,000 scholarship to any applicant enrolling in a
line worker program …. Scholarship is limited to Iowa residents and preference will be given to Consumers Energy
members … Application Deadline: April 1, 2015
(5) Consumers Energy Academic Scholarships … Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to applicants pursuing a post
secondary education in a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year
college, university, or vocational/technical school …. Applicants must be dependents of Consumers Energy
members … Application Deadline: April 1, 2015
(6) Iowa Professional Golfers Association Foundation’s Charlie Burkhart Scholarship … Winner will receive
$1,000 each year of full-time attendance for 4 years at a college or university of their choice … Scholarship is open
to any graduating senior within the Iowa PGA section boundaries and any graduating student of an Iowa high
school … Winners are selected on the (1) basis of their interest and activity in golf (2) the potential for future
contributions to the game (3) academic ability and (4) financial need …. Applications must be completed and

(7) Heart of Iowa Communications Cooperative’s $500 Educational Grant Program … Area high school
students who reside with Cooperative Member Parent(s) or Guardian(s) in one of the HOI Cooperative’s districts or
Venture exchanges are eligible … Applicants must be going to either a two-year or a four-year accredited college
or an accredited vocational school … Applicants must be in good standing in both the school and the community

(8) Foundation for Rural Service College Scholarship Program …. A national college scholarship that awards thirty
one-time scholarships of $2,000 each … HOI will add and additional $500 should a student from the HOI service
area be selected to receive one of these scholarships … Applicants may also be eligible for one of four Staurulakis
Family Scholarship ($5,000 each) or two TMS Scholarships ($1,500 each) or the Everett Kneece Return to Rural
America Scholarship ($2,500) or the Colt Ford Scholarship (up to $15,000) … Completed Applications must be
sent to FRS with a postmark no later than March 2, 2015

(11) Gladbrook Hometown Foods Scholarships: It's that time of year again! Gladbrook Hometown Foods has started
its scholarship program for high school seniors for 2014-2015.There is no specific deadline to submit an
application. The store manager told me “The sooner – the better.” Scholarships are determined by tallying the cash
register receipts that are put in each applicant’s envelope in the store in the next few months. Scholarship
applications are available in the guidance office.
(12) The Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship to the University of Iowa...$800 scholarships...Recipients must attend the
University of Iowa, be of the Protestant faith, and be a resident of the State of Iowa...The postmark application
