ALLEGAN HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

 The Tigers fell to Otsego 82-52 on Saturday. The Tigers fought very hard
behind Braden Ellis’s 12 points and Trey Hoffman’s 11. The Tiger’s take on
Dowagiac on Tuesday at home. Hope to see you there.
 Girls’ varsity basketball lost a competitive game to Otsego last Saturday 39-53.
Leading scorer was Karlie Wells. We travel to Dowagiac on Saturday and travel
to Three Rivers on Friday.
 The wrestling team competed this weekend at the Michigan Duals in Bay City.
The Tigers went 3-2 on the day posting wins over Romeo, Lapeer and Midland
Dow. The Tigers dropped losses to Eisenhauer 33-32 and Chippewa Hills 3926. Undefeated wrestlers on the day were Davynn Schneider, Levi Sabin and
Chase Beard. Going 4-1 were Jake Orr, Ricky Jefferson, Ben Diaz and Austin
Farrell. The wrestling team is in action at home this Wednesday for Conference
matches with Plainwell and Vicksburg. Good luck to all wrestlers.
 Freshman and JV boys’ basketball will host Otsego (makeup from last week) on
Thursday, January 15th starting at 5:00 P.M. with the freshman game.
 Allegan Public Schools Aquatic Center Swimming lessons for winter-2015
registration forms are available in the main office.
 Bittersweet Ski/Snowboard-join the Allegan Independent Ski Club for 20142015 ski season. The club card is $15.00 for both student and adult. This card
gets you discounted ski lift and rental rates. Please make checks payable to
Bittersweet Ski Resort. You may pick up your application forms from the main
office or go to Alleganps.org web page parent links. Drop off your signed paid
application to Vanessa Sagodic/Allegan Independent Sponsor at L.E. White
Middle School.
 Timber Ridge Ski Club 2014-15 pay-as-you-go student and adult information
and forms are available in the main office. Questions please call Mindy
Sturman at 269-806-8501.
 The APS Fieldhouse, behind the middle school, is now open to the community
for walkers, joggers, during the following hours: 6:00-7:30 A.M. and 5:30-7:30
P.M. (Monday-Friday).
 Students who are interested in auditioning for The Cat in the Hat should plan to
attend an informational meeting on Thursday, January 15th right after school.
Please meet in Mrs. Sparks’ room #535. Audition packets will be handed out
and questions about cast and the audition process will be answered. She
promises it to be a brief meeting!
 Advanced TV/Media students who are interested in working on Public Service
Announcements and other videos for competitions should see Mrs. Sparks.
There are many opportunities to earn money and awards from the many contests
available. Mrs. Sparks plans to meet with interested students on Tuesday,
January 13th right after school in 535, so mark your calendars if interested!
 Cell Phones- the media center is collecting cell phones. Please bring in your
unused cell phones to the media center. Collection is on-going, so bring them in
anytime.
 Community Service at the First Congregational Church in Allegan on
Thursdays. Show up at 4 P.M. to help prepare and serve dinners. Questions,

 Attention Seniors: A reminder that your cap and gown and graduation products
order forms need to be turned in to Jostens at school on Thursday, January 15th
during lunch in room #904. If you missed the class meeting to obtain order
information materials, there are extra packets in the office. Please stop by to
pick one up. It is extremely important that you don’t miss this deadline!
 Seniors, turn your senior photos in to Ms. Conrad by January 15. If you send
your photo through email, check for response that confirms it has been received.
Aren’t sure if you turned yours in? Check the list outside of Ms. Conrad’s room
(802).
 Seniors – The list for diplomas has been posted on the main office window.
Please check this list and let Mrs. Fales know immediately if your name is not
listed correctly. This is the list that will be sent to Jostens.
 Seniors: almost time to submit your FAFSA form, submit between Jan. 1-March

 Seniors and Parents: get help for completing the FAFSA-“College Goal

 Seniors: The clock is ticking! Your senior photos are due January 15. It may
seem like a ways away, but that’s just 4 days after we come back from break. If
you haven’t had your photo taken, please do so over break so your photographer
has time to edit it before the deadline. All photos need to be submitted digitally.
