Maule History Tidbit: The Maule M-4, the basis for all Maule production aircraft to date, was first
flown in 1957 and received FAA Type Certification in 1961. The first production model M-4 was
completed in April, 1962.
Maule Fun Fact: When B.D. Maule wasn’t busy flying out of the factory’s hangar doors, he was
either riding his bicycle around the factory to check on production, or he was rocking in one of many
rocking chairs stationed around the plant, thinking about how to make the Maule even better.
