ABSTRACT At this time, electrical needs is getting more higher. Hence, there needs to improve in the provision of electrical energy, the continuity of electrical energy distribution and the reliability of electric power systems. Photovoltaic (PV) can act as electrical energy generation with solar energy as its source. By connecting Photovoltaic (PV) to the distribution system, the provision of electrical energy and the level of reliability will be increased. In this final project, it can be seen the level of reliability of generating system and distribution system by connecting Photovoltaic (PV) and not connecting Photovoltaic (PV). The level of reliability is declared as the reliability index that is obtained from calculation using Monte Carlo method. This method is a simulation procedure to obtain the reliability index by using random number generation through running of program listing in Matlab application. The result of Monte Carlo simulation is the level of reliability of generating system connected with Photovoltaic (PV) has increased. In the other hand, the level of reliability of distribution system connected with Photovoltaic (PV) has decreased.
