SCHOLARSHIPS: Please see Ms. Hill in the Guidance Office for information and applications: The American Association of University Women is now accepting applications from senior girls who are planning on attending Peninsula College in the Fall of 2015. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due back to Ms. Hill by Friday, February 27. TODAY EWING C. KELLY SCHOLARSHIP: Applications must be completed and returned to the scholarship committee no later than March 10, 2015. Gladys Christopher Pollanz Scholarship applications are now available in the guidance office. Applicants must complete a 250 word essay and must show financial need, be pursuing a degree at a 4 year college/university in science, engineering, business or education and include SAT scores with application. Essays are due to Ms. Hill in Guidance by Friday, March 13. Nor’Wester Rotary applications now are available. Application essays must be returned to Ms. Hill in Guidance by Friday, March 27, 2015. Application will be submitted to the scholarship committee with your scholarship notebook Olympic Junior Babe Ruth applications now are available. Applications are due to Ms. Hill in Guidance by Friday, March 27, 2015. Your application will be submitted to the scholarship committee with your scholarship notebook. International Footprint Assoc. Scholarship: Eligible students should be planning on continuing their education in a public safety field (law enforcement, firefighter, etc.). One scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded. Due no later than Friday, April 3. Olympic Medical Center Scholarship: Four scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded. Eligible students will have already been accepted into a credited Medical, Nursing, Medical Assistant or related program. You must include an official transcript and two letters of recommendation. If your application is accepted, you will be notified for a personal interview. Please see Ms. Hill in the Guidance office for additional information. Application deadline is April 15, 2015. Peninsula College 2015-2016 Scholarships Now Open! The Peninsula College Foundation is currently offering over 30 scholarships and over $80,000 in scholarship money to students attending Peninsula College for the 2015-2016 school year. Scholarship applications are due Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Interested individuals should visit www.thewashboard.org to create a log in, start a personal profile, and apply for scholarships. Students are encouraged to start the process now as many scholarships require recommendations, personal essays, and unofficial transcripts to complete applications. Applications submitted after the April 21 deadline will not be accepted. For more information about the scholarships process, please visit www.pencol.edu/scholarships. Applications are now available for the Sons of Norway Scholarship. If you are not a member of the Sons of Norway, you can still apply for a scholarship by getting sponsored by a member. The following Washington State School Retirees’ Association scholarship applications are now available online at www.wssra.org: Robert J. Handy Scholarship $900/year renewable for 4 years (16 scholarships available) – criteria includes grades, citizenship, self-reliance. WSSR Foundation Scholarship $1500 (8 scholarships available). Neil D. Prescott Scholarship $1500 (1 scholarship available) The Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation Scholarship is now available: Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or higher and must prepare a 500-700 word essay on either of two topics. Deadline is April 25, 2015. SENIORS: If you plan to continue the study of music as a major or minor in college, you are invited to complete the application for the Monday Musicale Scholarship. Applications must be mailed to the committee no later than Wednesday, April 29. Olympic Driftwood Sculptors 2015 Scholarship: Applicants must write a short essay (paragraph) that discusses your interest in art, how art has impacted your life, or what you hope to do with your art training. You must attach several photos of your artwork to your application. Application deadline is Friday, April 30. Abbott & Fenner is accepting applications online at http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm. This scholarship is available to juniors and seniors. To apply you will need to write an essay – between 500 and 1000 words. Submissions must be emailed to [email protected] by June 15, 2015. See Ms. Hill in the Guidance office for more information. Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) ESA Foundation has numerous scholarships available for Washington State high school seniors. Deadlines vary by scholarship Willamette University offers an Olympic Scholarship exclusively to high school graduates from Clallam and Jefferson counties and to transfer students from Peninsula College. The amount is determined by Willamette University, with a minimum of $2,000. This is normally a one-year award. At graduation, each recipient is designated an Olympic Scholar. IF YOU HAVE PLAYED A FALL OR WINTER SPORT, the ONLY document required will be the inherent risk form for your Spring Sport.
