As our Savior Christ hath commanded and taught us, we are bold to say: “Our Father. . . .”
So runs the old liturgical formula, stressing the Pater Noster (The Lord’s Prayer) as a
command and its use as a daring, trembling, holy boldness. At one level, this is entirely
appropriate. At another level, however, it fails to catch the most remarkable thing about the
Lord’s Prayer — and so fails to grasp the truly distinctive feature in Christian prayer that this
prayer points us to. For the Lord’s Prayer is not so much a command as an invitation: an
invitation to share in the prayer-life of Jesus himself. - N. T. Wright

Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with
God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made himself
nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human

becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted
Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name,

How beautiful the hands that served the wind and the bread and the sons of the earth. How
beautiful the feet that walked the long dusty roads and the hill to the cross. How beautiful, how
beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ. How beautiful the heart that bled, that took all
my sin and bore it instead. How beautiful the tender eyes that chose to forgive and never
despise. How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ. See from His head,
His hands, His feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down. Did e’er such love and sorrow meet, or

It is right to give our thanks and praise.
It is truly right and our greatest joy… Therefore we praise You, joining our voices with
choirs of angels and with the faithful of every time and place, who forever sing to the
glory of Your name:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of
Your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of
the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
You are holy, O God of majesty… Accept this, our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving
as a living and holy offering of ourselves, that our lives may proclaim the One crucified
and risen.
Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again.
Gracious God, pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these Your gifts
of bread and wine, and that the bread we break and the cup we bless may be
the communion of the body and blood of Christ. By Your Spirit unite us with
the living Christ and with all who are baptized in His name, that we may be
one in ministry in every place. As this bread is Christ’s body for us, send us
out to be the Body of Christ in the world. Amen.

noon to 1:30 p.m. in which newcomers can learn more about Christianity, the Presbyterian
Church and membership at First Presbyterian Church of Ocala. Please speak with one of
our pastors after the service if you have questions or pastoral concerns; and again, welcome
to our friendly, caring and mission-minded family of faith!

“Wednesday Night Live” Dinners & Programs
This Wednesday, March 4
The Program: Land of the Bible – Jordan and Judea. Join Pastor Darren as we learn together about
the people and places which have shaped our faith. Menu: Slow cooked and tender pulled pork, baked
beans, mixed roasted vegetables, potato salad and slaw and fresh fruit salad. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m.
and is served until 6:15 p.m. The dinner costs are adults and youth $6, $3 per child (10 and under) and
$15 maximum per family. Complete this form and place it in the offering plate today, make a
reservation on the friendship pad, or call the church office by Tuesday noon. Note: If you make a
reservation and your plans change and you’re not coming to dinner, call the church office by Tuesday
noon.

The VIPs (Very Important Presbyterians) will meet this Thursday, March 5 in
Fellowship Hall. The meeting starts at 11:30 with lunch and program following at
noon. Program: 1880s Woman, Dee Colier, aka “Lizzy Jane” will entertain us.
Menu: Homemade Chicken Cacciatore over penne pasta, mixed greens Italian salad, garlic
bread, and light sweet treats. The cost is only $6. Be sure to make your reservation on the
Friendship Pad today or call the church office (629-7561) on or before Tuesday, March 3.
Please request gluten free if needed and don’t forget to bring paper goods to
donate to Interfaith.
Spring String Fling – next Sunday, March 8 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Come
hear our fantastic string ensemble’s annual spring concert. The concert will feature classics,
such as Bach's Brandenburg Concerto and Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nacht Music, as well as themes
from popular movies and TV productions. The group will also feature breakout
performances by several members, including the director’s world premier viola performance
of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” The performance has something for everyone, so make
plans to attend and invite your family friends and neighbors!
Our 2015 church-wide yard sale for Missions is set for Thursday - Saturday,
March 12 – 14! Start bringing your contributions now and place them on one of the
tables set up in Fellowship Hall. Ask friends and neighbors to consider making contributions
too. No TVs or computer monitors unless they’re flat screen, please. Want to help with
this year’s sale or need items picked up? Call Lannie Mercer (629-3354).
Anyone interested in a “Computer 101” class? We have a member eager to help our
members who may want to purchase a computer and get online! Call or speak to Pastor
Raymond if you’d like to know more or the church office (629-7561) to sign up!
Church Women United – Fort King Presbyterian Church will host the Church
Women United celebration of World Day of Prayer this Friday, March 6.
Registration and a social time will be from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. All are invited to this
