Applications will be available through your high school music directors. Acceptance will be based on recommendations by music directors, information provided in applications and available space. Experience Life as a College Musician! J.U.M.P. is designed with the goal of Music Major, Scholarships, and Financial Aid. preparing female high school seniors for Each day, students will attend a short recital the process of applying to university music programs and transitioning from a high given by TAMUK music majors as well as music faculty. The camp will include a final recital school musician to a college level during which all of the program participants will musician. This week-long program will perform. offer daily sessions in Music Theory, Piano, Computer Lab and Chamber Ensemble Coachings. Each student will receive a private lesson from a TAMUK faculty member. In addition, there will be lectures on Performance Anxiety, Life as a College JUMP Camp provided an amazing experience for me, where I got to meet music instructors, university students, and campers. I had the opportunity to "live the life of a music major" for a week in which I received so much advice and insight. We all became so close in such little time and learned so much. J.U.M.P. has been generously sponsored by a Service Learning Project at Texas A&M UniversityKingsville, which has allowed the cost of the program to be only $50 per student. The $50 tuition covers room and board, applied lesson fees, all course materials, and social activities. Who will be attending? Rising senior high school female instrumentalists and singers from South Texas who are planning on majoring in music in college. What will I do at night? Students will take part in fun community bonding activities such as game night, movie night, and an ice cream social. Where will I stay? Students will be housed in A&MKingsville dorms.
