In order to understand customers’ real need and the degree of their satisfaction with our service, E-commerce & Documentation
Dept. (ICDP) conducts the Global Satisfaction Survey every two years. The latest one was made in 2014 and completed successfully. ICDP
cooperated with the external consultancy company in this survey employing different perspectives and professional analysis to find out
the true feeling of customers toward our services and their real requirements. We also provided all possible advice to our colleagues on the
surveyed items receiving low score and expected them to tailor our service to the real need of our customers.
In the survey, we receive different responses, ranging from praises, suggestions, complaints to reminders, which not only reflected
their expectations, but would also facilitate us to make greater improvement. As for their good words, we’d like to say thanks to all of our
colleagues around the world for the good job they have done. If not you, we can’t get so many applauses from customers.
For your information, all comments collected in the Global Satisfaction Survey have been posted on the website for all parties'
reference. All agents can view the comments by:

2.Connecting to AS2 server (https://as2.yangming.com/ilis/login.jsp)/Yang Ming e-Service/2014 Customer’s Comment From Satisfaction
Survey.
We expect our staff would well understand the real need and aspirations of our valuable customers.
The following comments including suggestion, complaints and positive praise were collected from this survey:
A.The main items of complaints
Booking &
Delivery
Some booking staff confirm booking was too late and the space provided was too little for customers. And also
there was no positive notice provided on the change of sailing schedule.
Equipment
Chinese customers reflected that the shortage of containers was more serious in China than in other regions and
that some dry and reefer containers were not in good condition.
Quotation &
Freight
No notice on changes of ocean freight and surcharges was provided in time and ocean freight was higher than
the marketing rate.
Documentation
It was suggested that documentation staff's name be indicated on Bill of Lading to enable the customer to
contact the right person.
In addition, some customers indicated there was too much time consuming in B/L correction and the provision of
payment notice should be made more efficient and invoice to customers should be served earlier.
Customer
Service
The staff lacked professional knowledge and were not in good attitude toward the customer. In addition, the
customers in the US reflected they sometimes failed to get a quick response due to the frequent change of the
sales representative.
E-Commerce
YM website does not provide the information of cut-off time and surcharges.
In addition, for cargo tracking purpose, the information about transship arrangement and ETA is not timely and
accurate enough.

Industry Updates
I. Industry Update:

A. Overall Demand/Supply Forecast
Having grown robustly at 6.0% in 2014, global container trade is projected to expand at a slightly accelerated rate of 6.7% in 2015. This
growth rate is supported by continued strength on the peak-leg trades of the Far East-Europe and the Transpacific, on which trade volumes
are expected to grow by 6.4%and 7.0% in 2015 respectively. World box trade is also expected to benefit from growth of 6.1% on NorthSouth routes with the support of healthy expansion on the North-South trades with Africa. Volumes on the intra-Asian network are set to
continue expanding robustly, at 7.8%, as developing Asian economies grow strongly. In 2016, global container trade is projected to grow
by 6.8%.
Global container capable supply is expected to expand by 5.8% in 2015,slightly less quickly than global trade growth, with the delivery
of a high number of very large vessels due during the year. The delivery of these box ships to the mainlanes is likely to keep pressure
on mainlane freight rates, whilst non mainlane freight rates in 2015 will largely be determined by the management of supply, with the
potential for further vessels to ‘cascade’ down the route hierarchy. The charter market environment starts 2015 with some positive
sentiment, following the two highest years for container capacity demolition on record. In addition, the idle fleet remains fairly low,
at just over 1% of the fleet, and the orderbook for smaller vessels is very thin. In 2015, supply management will also depend upon the
continuation of ‘slow-steaming’ whilst oil prices are low, and port congestion may absorb further capacity. Container capable supply is
currently projected to grow by 3.7% in 2016.

B. Trade Analysis and Statistics
■ Panamax rate recovery gathers pace
✽The recovery of the panamax containership charter market is gathering pace, with only one such vessel currently unemployed, down from
52 idle units at the beginning of last year. Charter rates for panamax ships have reached $14,000 for round voyages, now that demand and
supply for vessels of this type appear to return to a balance for the first time since 2011.
W
✽ ith 25 panamax ships broken up in the past year, at least some of the rate improvement can be attributed to an increased scrapping
activity. Even more than the decommissioning of vessels, the recent deployment of panamax ships to new trade sectors has helped to
reduced the chronic supply overhang which plagued the panamax market for many years.
✽However: The main threat for the panamax will come in 2016, with the completion of the Panama Canal’s third set of locks. The opening
of the upgraded canal with its larger locks will allow most of the 211 panamax ships currently employed on services (all trades) that
transit the waterway to be replaced by neopanamax ships of up to 13,000 teu.
✽Among the aforementioned ‘new’ markets,
the Africa sector has seen the biggest influx
of panamax ships over the last 12 months,
with the number of ships of this size
doubling from 21 units to 43 units.
✽F urther to Africa, the intra Far East
routes have also seen a significant influx
of panamax ships, in particular into the
Chinese coastal trades. A total of 29
panamax ships are currently deployed
on domestic services between North and
South China. Although the trade is still
dominated by Chinese stalwarts COSCO
and CSCL, newcomers such as Quanzhou
Ansheng and Zhonggu Shipping have also
started to introduce panamax ships into
their domestic operations.

■ Idle fleet dropped sharply before Lunar New Year to 0.8%
of total fleet.

II. World Economy:
Source: Alphaliner Monthly
■Composite leading indicators point to tentative signs of a positive change in growth momentum in the euro area
■In both Manufacturing/Non-manufacturing PMI sectors, all three major economies either shrunk or remained weak in
the last survey. The growth momentum in China had made a record low in last twelve months.
