From our President Dear Members, We ended January with our annual Banga Cauda dinner. It was enjoyed by 130 guests. Thanks to our cook, Joe Scodella, and to Bob Porta & Alan Pricco for running the exciting 50/50 raffle. February started off with our super bowl party. Over 20 football fans had a good day, with good friends, good food, and a great game. Thanks to Joe Scodella and all who helped make this day fun. The first birthday dinner was chaired by Tom Walker & Andrew Balistreri. Their annual pasta w/pesto and Sausage & peppers menu was a big hit. Thanks to our cooks Michele Gasparro, Angelo Marchi & Nino Petracca. February’s family dinner was chaired by Ralph Brignone. The evening started out with games & crafts for the kids. These were headed up by Ralph’s wife Joan & helpers Vera, Mary Ann, Melinda, Terry & Renee. Just before dinner the kids took their swings at the pignatta. Successful, the candy was enjoyed by all. Our dinner of Salad, Ravioli and Pork Roast was delicious. Thanks to our cooks, Art Parziale & Dino DiPianto February’s 2nd birthday dinner was chaired by Evan Matthews. The fusilli pasta and roasted chicken were great. I would like to thank our cooks that evening, Joe Scodella and Angelo Marchi. As always a big thanks goes to our bartenders, waiters, ticket sellers and kitchen crew for their time, dedication and effort they give every dinner. I will report on both crab feeds in next month’s newsletter. God Bless & Sempre Avanti, Tim Tomei From the Sunshine Committee We had two members that had suffered injuries from falls, Andrew Balistreri and Dom Sidari. We sent cards to our 85 and older birthday boys, Joe D. Casella, Albert Cristiani, Ray Fratangelo, John S. Lumetta, Henry Olivero, and Dominic J. Sidari. Several of these names have appeared here recently, besides Dom Sidari. It was reported that Joe Casella is in good spirits, but still cannot swallow. Ray Fratangelo has cancer, and Al Cristiani is not responsive most of the time. We had no reports of deaths, so we may be thankful for that. Be sure to call or email me if you have any news about our members. We are glad to see you at the club, but if you cannot make it, it is always good to hear from you! [email protected] Property sale update: Members and friends, the sale of the “Johnson” property continues to progress at a more or less normal bureaucratic pace. No major stumbling blocks, just the process of making sure everything is done correctly - Thanks to Alan for all his diligence in keeping the process moving forward! While the sale is progressing, we are reviewing initial drawings for a new parking lot at the board level. Alan and I continue to review various payment options for our “unsecured” investors and are hopeful to present a plan to the Board of Directors by April. These investors have been faithfully supporting this adventure since 2006! They are well deserving of thanks from all of us for their unwavering support. We will have more news to share in the coming months. Jim Taddei
